Whose Fan clutch (aftermarket) kicks on earliest?

As of Dec. 2008 he carried them. I'd bought one for my truck the returned it when motor went before I'd had a chance to install it. Got the newer complete pump/clutch/fan kit for the new motor.

Well, I got to give the Hayden Severe Duty clutch a little test yesterday and the results were staggering. About 90+ humid as hell. Truck hit 210 climbing a long grade. That fan kicked in with a vengance. I was empty but the truck went from 210 to about 180 in seconds. It works very well with stock fan blade. The truck is sold and leaving in the next few days but if time allows I want to do a run with the camper to see. Best 150$ I ever spent. I have never seen the temp gauge in either of my 6.5s drop so quickly.

The best part is I did a new WP on my Mothers Superduty so I have the old one to pull the flange off off and compare with 6.5 WP for that electric conversion.

That sux man, your tahoe probably had the absolute best cooling system around... So good in fact, that you almost didn't even notice your fan wasn't engaging at all.... Bet you could have had a really nice (and heavy) camper to pull around with all that dodge money....

Don't mind me, i'm just bitter... Now you aren't getting AE anymore, and I'm back to the starting line with my hopes and dreams of TDC0 -1.5... :)

...:mad2:

sorry....Yeah it would have been interesting to see how that fan would have worked onthe Tahoe. I personally think much better but the world will never know.....

It may, the new owner may start posting all his problems on here.

Nevermind, you did sale it to a Army CPT!):h

The only problem I had was running hot while towing up long grades. I made him aware of it. He wasn't planning on towing a camper that I am aware of. I wasn't alone. Many have same problem. I basically dealt with it by backing out of it on long grades and keeping it in a lower gear. I think part of it was the camper was just too heavy for the truck. That's why I bought a Cummins. It towed my skidsteer fine. My 2000 did exactly the same thing.
