im thinking about getting a plow set up for next year, what type is everyone running?

Its an 8ft. Decentish ground clearence, still get stuck all the time though.

If your plowing parking lots get a V plow. Otherwise save your money by not getting one.

i am thinking about a 7' cause i have a 2500 crew cab and i dot want to exceed the front axle weight mostly im just plowing my driveway and some others deff no parking lots any suggestions best place to buy what set up tips etc...

Theres weight limits on these trucks??? hehe.

Like I said I like the simplicity of my hiniker.

The things indestructable too. And belive me when I say that, I think from the towing thread you know how hard we push our stuff around here.

ill start taking a look at them and where i could buy one how much do you think i am looking at for the whole set up?

heres a link to the plow we have. We added a poly flap to the top too.

I love the control and the fact that theres no chains.

For our plow your looking at about 4K installed maybe a little more.

For you I would recccomend their 7' poly plow. Its still about 4K installed but its really light and if your not doing much plowing it will be perfect for you.

yes i know i just didnt realize they were that expensive ill have to do some research

I had an 7.5' Diamond on my 1990 2500HD and fully angled it wasn't wide enough to cover the width of the vehicle, meaning more passes..Not sure of the weight but an eight footer is what I'd opt for.

I just got a 9' 2" Boss Power V and i love it, i have so much fun plowing i get upset when i plow everything i have. My truck did just fine, i got stuck a few times cause im an idiot. It is the easiest thing to use with the hand held. My dad has the same plow for his 07 dually dmax. he uses the crap out of it, its like 5 years old, still looks brand new.

I have a Fisher 8' HD. I pieced it together myself. The off-truck side I bought as a whole for $1900. It's an 04, I bought it fall of 07 in great shape, almost new in fact. It had a nearly new 5/8 cutting edge on it. I bought a brand new iso module off ebay for $300(I didn't want to wait, there was a storm coming) It came with all but one cable I needed, which I bought from the local fisher dealer, and a controller. I bought the fish stick from a member on ebay that saw that I was bidding on one, and emailed me. He sold it to me for $150. The mounts I also bought on ebay. I was bidding on a set, then checked the auction from my phone. My phone, and browsing ebay from it, was still new to me. I thought I lost the auction and when I got home I just clicked the buy it now on a more expensive set. Turns out I actually won the other one, so I have two sets. The more expensive set arrived first, so that's what I installed but the other set looks newer.
I have had a few "quirks" with it, but nothing major. If you're looking for a great, great site for plows go to plowsite.com There is a ton of information there. I'm sure this one will end up being the same way, but until then plowsite is an excellent resource.

I have an 8'6" meyer Xpress mount. the easiest by far to hook up, literaly 30 sec. i have had western and boss, i liked the western, motors were a little slow, HATED the boss. the boss plows are a nice concept but alot of maintanance. also with the boss, i always got curbs with the mount while stacking. my meyer hangs down only 2" or so. i beat the piss out of them and its been pretty good to me. look them up, just for fun.

I've had Westerns, Meyers, and Snoways. They've all been pretty good - snoway was by far my favorite. I beat the HELL out of that thing, it never once gave me a bit of problem. That's what's going on my LMM for this coming year.
