what is your preferred timing chain? do you think gears are OK for 6.5L?

I would think you reuse it. In front of the gear.

Ive been looking hard with no luck so far. If other companies are still offering them someone must still be making them right?

Did you call DSG Canada?

No as they retail them for over $500, there also a competitor. Even if they came down to $300 you guys are looking to buy at $350. Not worth the time for me. I need to find the manufactuer, My gut tells me its not DSG.
Mike said his had PJ on his (very interesting).

when did Pete Jackson go out of business? that kinda sucks. :(

I am too young/ never read up on him much to remember, but he was a huge name in gear drives for decades, correct?

Where's the reluctor wheel on that Phazer kit?

I would think you reuse it. In front of the gear.

Alain, Just reread my answer and its a wrong answer. I must have had the Fluid Damper reluctor ring on my mind?

Anyone have a timing gear drive set they can send me for a possible production run? It will not be used in any way except to take messurements from and get a machinist eye on it. I'd like to see one in my hands and not have to reinvent the wheel. In other words reverse engineer the thing. I'll pay postage both ways. If it works out I might have these made again.

You can still purchase them. They are over $400. I found a site off the links from the diesel power mag website.

Thanks answers a question I had about the reluctor ring being seperate. Is that a different metal surface on it? wonder why?
Try this gear drive 6.2/6.5 set

That is a lot of cash for some chunks of metal.

KD still carries them on his website.
Saw that one, over $550ish there.
This thread from 2010, Slim was looking at getting a run of them made!

I'll check it out.
