Which one of the handles did he use to PM you? Perhaps another Alias?

Edam, if you're reading, defend yourself to save your rep. Don't hide behind PM's.

To be fair...

Okay, I suppose I need to post this just to be fair.

I did NOT initiate this post trying to get something for nothing. After 2 emails to the vendor I was told that replacement would not happen. So I intended on sharing my experience/displeasure of the transaction with my fellow 6.5 enthusiasts. I even declined a replacement when it was first offered (see email below) However both a replacement harness and spare PMD have arrived from vendor. I have installed the harness (completely full of dielectric grease, so full I could barely close the connectors) and will report back again if I have any further issues. The PMD will go in glovebox in case the corrosion causes any issues down the road

My email to them:

Subject: RE: GM 6.5 DIESEL PMD EXTENSION HARNESS
Date: Sun, 25 Oct 2009 22:43:13 -0400

You started with: "I can replace it no problem, its the same for sure. I dont have any problem with them"

Then you emailed: "Terry, i thought you bought it like couple of months ago, its been more than a year..
Supplier wont guarantee it after one year..."

So, based on your email stating you would not replace the cable, I have made provisions for acquiring another harness elsewhere

I also have now decided not to spend any more time or money on this one, as in shipping it back: "Return defective harness."
Or have more moisture/corrosion problems and have it finish off my newer PMD

I researched and found people warning of this exact issue with your product(s). Someone cautioned me specifically of your cable when it first started acting up. So perhaps you are just uninformed when you stated: "You are the first... We sold many and had no problem"

I've put several hundred miles on the truck since removing your harness, and it has run flawlessly. So whether or not you believe me is irrelevant, with your cable in place it "fishbites" and even stalls, without your harness the truck performs perfectly

Thank you for the email, though

Take care

They replied with the following (and shipped the replacement parts):

HI Terry,

got my last e-mail?

We just sent a replacement harness.. you should receive shortly.

We also sent you a free replacement PMD that comes with a 3 months warranty starting from the date you receive and can be used by replying to this e-mail so do not delete it.

Our goal is to make our customer happy not angry... I felt that on your post that you were not happy and I would have prefered to do little more communication.

Ok, thx, have a nice day and keep me updated!

So, for whatever the reason:rolleyes5:, they did try to make good on the problem in the end...

OK. Score one for Edam - and no snotty comments about it only being one.

We treat everybody fairly here... I have heard comments from people that had good luck with parts from Edam, and were happy. I have also heard from people who (like Terry) had a problem and found themselves just plain out of luck... no warranty.

So far, the majority of the scoresheet is decidedly against Edam on the warranty side of things, but this one is a positive.

Personally, I still wouldn't buy from the guy, as his history isn't that great, but you guys need to individually decide, every time, whether you want ironclad warranty like our vendors offer, or if you want to save a few bucks on guys like Edam.

We're watching. And counting.

If he has decided that he wants to earn a following, rather than being like Steaksauce, then we'll know soon enough.

Thanks for the update, Terry - glad it worked out for you!!
