My D-Tech from Edam worked fine, not that I'm discounting what's been said, just saying that he doesn't sell 100% crap. I got a 100% NEW D-tech, which is what I wanted.

I got a bad used PMD from edam a long time ago. was supposed to be new, it had marks on it like someone dropped something heavy and sharp on it, cut into it a little. Was in a bind and had to throw it in, eventually ordered another new one, sent him back the old one and he said he never got it, so got no refund. scumbag. Now I've got a D-tech I bought from someone else, I forget who.

yeah he hasnt been around lately. he does have very fast shipping though. ordered on wedsnday and it was here by saturday

True, but I don't think its fair to paint Edam as = to Steaksauce.
Since I have had no personal dealings with them I'll reserve my comments of the validity of that assertion, but I do know at one time EDAM was selling "tested good" used units, that I do know is risky.

Some on multiple forums have reported less than stellar manufacture of received harnesses, and warranty after the fact, so possibly that is where the assessment of "like Steaksauce" comes from. :33:

FWIW I had a #6 then switched to a #9, my GMTDScantech showed a .35mm3 increase in fuel delivery. I would just keep what you have, it's paid for.

The scanner won't show you an increase in fuel rate for a resistor change. Its just used in what signal it actually sends to the IP to tell it to squirt. It still thinks its the same rate, just having to tell the IP to squirt for a few nanoseconds more or whatnot to achieve that rate.

The computer uses that value and yes a larger number results in a longer pulse width which would correlate to more fuel. On a stock setup from a 5 to a 9 it might make a difference. On one that youve already increased fuel delivery 30%, 2mm3 isnt much of a difference, but why recommend a 7 if a larger number doesnt matter?

With performing the full FTB mod it might be interesting to see what a #11 might produce. Maybe I'll give that a try to see if I can get the computer to report a new calibration parameter it accepts without coding an error or pulse width out of tolerance like the #13 resistance value would give.

A study done a few years ago may not be valid when other new modifications are taken into account.

I don't fully understands Stefans program but with the #6 resistor it showed a "maximum transient" fuel rate of 63.4mm3. With the #9 in it went to 63.75mm3. This is not "throttle requested" fuel rate. My truck can have a throttle requested of 15mm3 or 75mm3 all while the max. transient remains the same. Now all this was done before my Westers chip. That is what I based my findings on. Oh yeah, a TDCO learn was done with the #9 resistor. The only time I saw a different max. trans. value was if there was no throttle requested fuel rate.

A transient is just a single highest point it has hit since you the program has been monitoring. The transient could be from startup, just a quick blip of anything. With the stock L65 program the greatest requested should have been 65mm3. Unless you had a special HD tune from GM. Now, your foot can request greater than the max transient, but the PCM may defuel you before that so your actual max fuel rate ever went over the previous max transient. So requested and actual are a lot of time different.

I don't know how it works. I just seen a common transient fuel rate at any requested rate above zero, it varied between resistors but was common to a resistor value. As a side note it increased to 79mm3-80mm3 with the Westers chip with a requested of 93mm3.

Hey guys, I am still around mostly just lurking, real busy latley. Anyway thanks for the kind words.
If you see a cable on ebay ask the seller point blank, WHERE IS IT MADE?
Most of them are from China. I say most because I also sell on ebay.
One clue is if all the wires are the same color and/or the cable seal is any other color but light green then it is more than likely from China.

I make each one personaly as they are ordered.

just got a PM from edam, apparently a member and is lurking here. Says he wants to make good.

I'm not so sure on this. Something tells me he doesn't want to make good, he just doesn't want us to talk bad about him.

There's many many people that have had poor products and services from Edam, and now with this thread showing up Edam all of a sudden wants to "want to make good"? I don't think he'll be able to please all those that have had poor service and products from him.

I call :icon_bs:. It sounds to me like he doesn't want the bad publicity this thread is giving him.

I bought a used PMD but it was from a member who converted engines. That is about the only safe way to buy one IMHO if funds don't allow new.
