Well, my 95 has managed to eat another NAPA lift pump. 7months/13Kmiles. So im thinking i might as well go the walbro/racor route.

Are there any vendors here that sell them??? And if not, where should I be looking?? I know Matt B had mentioned something about refurbished racor units.

Thanks for the help guys

PM sent.

I am charging $95 for the Walbro The fittings are $19.99. I have them in stock. Let me know and I will have to send an invoice as the pumps are not on the web site. I will need your email address.

Thanks
Leroy

Airdog IIRC is lifetime warranty so you'll never buy another one. These can feed 800+HP Cummins so It'll feed any 6.5 and then some and no need for FTB since this would replace the fuel manager with better filtration and better flow. I am begging to think more and more that this is the way to. Walbros IIRC were a poor attempt at a solution for Dodge second gen LP issues. Fass or Airdog way better IMHO. If I get the CUCV that's what's going on it. Nice thing about the Fass or airdog 150 is it comes with a universal pickup tube assby which converts the tank to 1/2 inch draw. Also it comes with complete fuel lines to tank and since most of us have rotte fuel lines anyway not a bad way to go. Had I known about it when I had the Tahoe that is what would have went on it.

So im assuming this is sold as a universal fit? or is it sold by application? Now what about the fuel lines. Hard bendable lines or does it use a rubber hose. I like the idea, and would consider trying it when I redo my 96, but for now i just need a working pump that lasts longer than the damn NAPA garbage.

Has anyone ever tried the airdog on a 6.5...it seems to be aimed more at the cummins/duramax customer. Is it possible to feed the IP too much PSI??

I know the raptor is adjustable. They are pretty much universal except that certain kits come with a harness to tie into factory wiring but that should be easy on a 6.5. The pickup tube actually gets drilled into the tank so should work on any tank. Dodge runs around 16 psi so I don't think that's terribly high for a DS4 but someone with more knowledge might chime in. The hoses are push lock. So any additoinal fittings should be readily availible.

I want one of those! I'll add it on my wish list for christmas!

I looked at AD when they & FASS first came out they were really high, for 90+% of 6.5ers out there the h/o fom Heath is sufficient, I ran mine that way for about 3 years, I was just looking for that extra when towing big, I hooked up with folks @ Hoesli Diesel in Evansville Ind. they sold me a nearly new Walbro for $35 that was tried on a Cummins but didn't do what they wanted, and am not disappointed in it. FWIW FTB isn't mandantory at all, just an enhancement I cooked up, but it works, Heath's LSR ran FTB fittings I sent for another test I wanted him to run for me; & Todd convinced him to run the fittings & Air Dog at Bonneville

AD is vast improvement over Walbro to be sure, possibly overkill, as the DS-4/DB-2 will only take on & use X amount of fuel & rest is returned to tank, if you have to "dial down" the delivery of the AD, possibly too much pump for the 6.5.

My preference is to match the pump to the demand rather than reduce the delivery of a bigger pump, sort of like a turbo being sized to work in the engines optimal "power band" rather than have too much or too little of a turbo.

But that is me, do what suits your needs, I did maintain my Heath h/o plumbed in parallel with the Walbro so if the Walbro died, or I need even more flow (have not had to run that way yet) then I can switch on backup pump or both pumps.

I just like the added filtration the AD/Fass provides compared to the stock FM on the GM. Had I known about it first I would have went that route. I like two spin on filters. I am sure it probably puts out way more fuel than a 6.5 needs but the extra filtration is nice. Much better warranty than the Walbro. Smae as buying the Heath PMD kit. You can buy it cheaper elsewhere but no 7 year. Anyway just throwing out something different.

Kind of what I was thinking. I dont see the point in buying a huge LP if the injection pump can handle only so much fuel. From what I can gather, the walbro serves the IP quite well with the amount of fuel being delivered matching the amt. being used. I would have to imagine that any gain in power with the airdog would be minimal, but I would still like to see a dyno test

Walbro is nice because it does the job, costs little more than stock, can wire into stock wire harness, and fuel lines right there....

Airdog removes air particles in the micron range?? Allowing for a denser, spray?

Not the increase in fuel delivery that got me tickin' more the increased filtering and air removal. What other options are there in that regard?
