I am getting ready to remove the vacuum pump however when I searched the technical library and previous posts I can't find anything on how to. I can see 2 bolt between the alternator pulley and the Vac pump pulley. Anyone have any how to info?

Thanks!

Time spent removing anything in the way will be rewarded 100 times over in flesh that doesn't have to heal.

I removed mine as well but the 99.5 inch belt is a little to tight for me as it keeps the tensioner out of it's normal operating range, maybe it won't matter. I have it on there still as I can't find the right one.

Joey how long has your 99.5" belt been on, mine was at too tight position for a while, now it's at the middle of the range of loose/tight, the 100" went to the too loose position in a weeks time, and I was getting belt squeal as result, I thought the alternator bearings had gone bad it was so loud.

x2, double check it again, you may be pesently surprised :)

I just got out my vacuum pump and tried a 99.5 belt and w/ my tension pulley all the way open I still needed 1/2" more to get it to fit. I took it back and got a 100 and w/ the pulley all the way up it cleared by 1/8 of an inch. Each truck must be different or just the belt. I got mine from O'reiley's.

I think the variation why some need 100, or 99.5 has to do with a/c compressor location, pulley size on idler/alternator/waterpump, especially if any of those have ever been replaced.

When the 100" "went bad" on mine I bought a 99", 99.5" & another 100" to see which one fit best, both burb & truck (98's) worked best with 99.5", I took back the other 2 I didn't use.

I think it is due to how/where the a/c and the alternator are installed.

Minor pulley differences for sure, replacement alts are a tad smaller I think than the OEM specs...

When you swap out belts on 'normal' vehicles, do they stretch out like they do on ours after vac delete? wassupwitdat?

I have a dumb question I've been meaning to ask. The three mounting holes are blind aren't they? We aren't leaving open threaded holes to the inside of our motors are we? Please tell me no!!!

The 3 bolts are accessed through the holes in the pulley. The holes remain there. They are just threaded holes.

It is about a 10 min job if you don't remove any brackets. About a 2 hour job if you start removing brackets because you did not ask the fine folks at DTR how to do it properly!
