Truck Find! Much needed tow rig!

This is getting annoying. The guy seemed sketchy any ways. So story goes: I called this guy like everyother day checking to see if it was still there and what not. Called the guy friday when I got out of class and was heading to the town where I bank, 150 miles away, and asked if he still had the truck and told him I am going to talk to my banker and make sure I don't bounce a check and I will be there to pick it up on Sunday, he said he would hold it then. So I end up withdrawing cash and when I call him yesterday he said he sold soon after getting off the phone with me because he didn't believe. A mans word and a hand shake isn't worth crap, I offered him ~200 cash to hold it and he wouldn't take the money.

So the hunt continues:

Only Info I can get from the guy is he took for a trade on a horse trailer and was a one owner truck. The PO was a trailer salesman and this was the trucks life w/ 370K miles on it. Has receipt of a new IP from GM 2 months ago, rear EXcab window is busted out, needs 2 tires on the rear, and says interior is clean with no rips in the seats. He is going to call me 2mro and take pics of what ever my heart desires and email them to me. Looks clean, to me miles aren't as important as maintainance.

If there is anyone local that can look it over and test drive it for me that would be great. Send me a PM.

It still is between real men, he obviously isn't one.

True, but it is just frustrating, I kinda had my hopes up on that one. I don't feel comfortable running around with a few thousand dollars on me, I know it will burn a hole in my pocket, so i made it so when I want money I have to go rearrange it when I know I need it.

Tanman I don't know if this will help but here's a site my friend gave me to some classifieds for car's trucks and other thing's it's in Utah. www.ksl.com top right you'll see where it says classified's, there's some diesel's in there and some big blocks on page 5 , 29 & page 30.

I guess it won't help I just pulled the atlas out and took a gander at where you're located and that's a pretty good piece over to Utah for you to travel unless you're feeling frisky and want to take a road trip.

the right truck is never to far away. A trip to any desert region that doesnt need salt is never too far! :)

What you say has merit GM Guy no salt and a dry climate does miracles for finding a solid body. My little 95 spent 14&1/2 yr.s working for the state of Virginia and the body is as solid as a rock, although the clear coat is gone on the top of the truck though.

I am on about a $4000 budget for a truck so that is my main requirement. I would like a dually 92-95 model, seems there is a multistage tune available for the 94 and 95, and with the 92-93 db2 you can't go wrong.

I have bought a truck from up north but I was very nervous and crawled all over it. A Texas, NM, Arizona truck would be worth the trip.

Meade kansas isn't very far for me to drive at all from the farm. Thanks

Crew Cab would be great but I can handle ex cab. 4x4 is prefered but I wouldn't mind 2wd since I will be doing mostly highway driving. Tranny doesn't matter at all.

So basically no single cab but all else goes. My dream truck is a 95 Crew Cab, 4x4, 5 speed.
