Truck Find! Much needed tow rig!

It was a fleet maintained construction truck. It has very good power especially for stock exhaust. It has the cheyanne package interior. Rubber floor mat and push button 4wd. Oil analysis and a compression test should give a good idea of condition. I haven't had this one very long. I have a leak to fix yet from the tranny or transfer case and give the paint a light buff.

Now you've got me thinking.... Hmmm... Will you be doing an oil anyl and compression check? I don't really want to fly up there just for that and get bad news. (i guess bad news is possible with everything) I still like the idea of a new engine for the same price...

A "new" engine verses one with 200,000 miles isn't much of a contest. A "New" engine costs Close to $12,000 installed from the stealer. How much old stuff was put on the new engine?
I have a brand new compression tester and should be able to find a place to get the analysis done. It actually would be a great idea for any long distance purchase. They do it with trucks and heavy equipment all the time.

I'll keep that in mind, I plan to give the guy a call in the A.M. I would like to have a 3/4 ton with 3.73's and 4x4 since I wont always be loaded heavy, I can just use my 1/2 ton and add heavier springs for those trips though. But then again I can load the hell out of a 3500hd with a 14 foot bed...

The 97 k3500 c&c in my sig will be up for sale when it gets the used engine put in it. Only 80k on the body. It will have a 12 ft aluminum flat bed on it. It has 4.10 possi in it.

New heads, water pump, full stainless exhaust, ball joints, lp, pmd relocated, has snow plow package but never plowed, construction foremans truck mainly highway miles. If anyone could go check it out for me that would be great, your troubles will be repaid, please pm me.

I called on the 98 3500hd and had to leave a message. I haven't gotten a reply yet.

The goldish tan one has been listed for 6 months. It has over 300,000 miles on it if I remember correctly from the previous adds. Member ozzy[dura max] is from apple valley. That is close to bloomington. It's a 120+ mile trip for me.

Yeah, he said 291K on it but i just thought it might be worth a look if blow by and oil test passes. It does have a new tranny too. I didnt know about the 6 months thing though, that could be good leverage.

It looks like the price got raised on the HD I will try to get ahold of him tonight and see what is going on.

Is there anyone that might be able to stop by Jordan, Mn and check out the 3500HD For me? If so shoot me a PM, I will pay for your services, I just want someone that knows what to look for on these trucks to take a look fo me. The guy seems pretty motivated to sell. He told me he doesn't know where the new engine came from but he is pretty sure it was replaced and the dealer and knows it only has 9K on it since it was replaced. This truck would be perfect for what i want.

Thanks everyone for putting up with my long thread of not being able to find a truck, I hope to get this one bought and put to work.

Looks like i will be getting the 98 3500 HD, engine is a 09 casting 506 w/ 9,000K on it "thanks for breaking it in for me!". I know I am asking alot being the holiday's and all and the weather up north being nasty, but if anyone can go check this truck out I would greatly appreciate it and would do my best to make it worth your while.

BK, I did a search for ozzy and didn't turn anything up.
