Trouble... Won't stay running

hey if the T valve has fuel coming out will the key is in the forward position doesn't that mean that the LP is working???

Working, yes, dosent mean it is working to spec. You also need to check pressure, which would be done with the engine running. But in this case, you should have enough pressure to fuel the IP.

well it decided to crank up but doesn't stay running for very long but i managed to crank it up and open up the T valve out front and it was pooring out just fine up until it died
it didn't stumble or choke or anything, but i noticed that when i let the T valve open the truck ran longer before it would die...

you really think that its already bad i just put one on not that many miles ago...
my dad got a 95 and he's only changed his once

checking grounds now broke two off so now i have to wait until i can go to the store to get more ground eyes....
can my PDM cause this kind of a problem???

yes a pMD(pump mounted driver) will, usually with some symptoms first. was truck cutting out or dying intermittently before this? the optic filter is rectangular box with 2 connectors near the IP. can you push down on pedal and keep engine running at higher rpm's?

If your idea of "not many miles" is 20K, then yes you need to change it. Its not a gasser. There is alot of crap in the diesel fuel today and the smallest amounts of deposits/water can cause some large problems.

I change mine every other oil change or 10K mi. They arent that expensive. Go buy one and change it. Much cheaper to try than a PMD

And while you are there...buy one for your dad and change his

lol...
but yeah it was cutting out sometimes and then on day it ran hot like 240* or so and thats when she started to act like this...

MUCH MUCH too hot to run these engines safely BTW. You should be worrying at 210+. Make sure your fan clutch is engaging at or around 210. If its not, try the free fan clutch mod.

You got instant pressure on upper rad hose at cold startup?

Any white smoke or a/f level issues your not admitting to yourself? Anything out the pipe?

I smell head gaskets, if this was even possible.

You'll be smelling alot more than that!!!

It's like doing a nuetral drop on my dually to get the wheels spinning....

It will do it.... ONCE.

If the engine can hold up, which perhaps it may, I'm not sure there is enough fuel to support that much boost, meaning the point of diminishing returns will be long lost, and spending energy to make boost, without being able to pump more fuel in there to utilize the boost, will in fact make you go slower.

Mine wont, I have to put the bumper to a guard rail or building to wheel stand it. :mad2:

Since I have a cracked black anyway, I will soon by running my truck with as much boost as I can, see if I can finish her off  :friday:
