I'm having issue's with my starter. Not to hi-Jack the thread,, but mine, cranks slow at first,, then on 2nd try,, it cranks faster,, then fast enough to start truck. 2 new AMG batteries, Haven't tested my cables yet, but looking at putting this starter in.

It's a NEW Hitachi 2.0KW gear reduction unit. NAPA says 100% NEW units have No core charge.
Because it will start faster,, ea time I try it. I'm thinking that putting the voltage/heat to the starter, on the first try,,, it's loosening up <so to speak > the internals of the starter, and allowing it turn faster on ea try. Same starter has given me heatsoak problems last summer on long drives. But I didn't repalce at the time, as it got colder, and that issue went away. I'll be testing the cables before I drop the starter out, just to make sure cables are good.
