The dry mix is not as strong as a wet mix

I’ve helped on driveway apron before, but that had to be 45+ years ago.I've been seeing some videos pop up lately of doing 'dry pour' with Ready Mix type stuff. Not sure about that.
I've helped with some small projects but, nothing that needed any real quality type work. I'm just helping Chris (owner of the VW powered streamliner and Karmen Gia salt flat cars I crewed for last summer) who's got the real experience and some of his family who are coming in to help out.
We have clay soil which expands and contracts. Concrete cracks on it no matter how much rebar in it. Thus paving stones are a better option. Plus I can install paving stones myself over time. Concrete is all at once and you need a crew. However the less water you use in a wet mix the stronger it is but harder to work with
It’s getting 5” road base, compacted down. Then the sand.If you do pavers where there is a lot of ground movement like that- the pavers usually separate and get uneven. I’ve seen people after 2-3 times of redoing pavers end up removing the pavers to do high pressure concrete 3” thick then pavers back on top.
When you have driveway or walkway concrete you expect to break- don’t just trowel cracking seams, pour individual pads next to each other with the expansion joint material between them.

We could paint trucks under the lights of that signStarted with only a wisp of smoke that stopped immediately. Drove from SLC to Kingman with no smoke on restarts. Calling this one solved.
