Rebuild Time

What shade of red is that? J/K looks better now.

Also did you borrow my valve cover install tip? by cutting heads of bolts off to aid alignment. I have a $.50 per use royalty on that method
Actually they are plastic dowels that came in a pan gasket set. They have a wedge shape that would hold the pan and gasket on during an inframe install.

Kinda. I'll take a pic tomorrow, It's basically two rails with a space between them and they are bent outwards in the middle. They are screwed in the pan rail then the gasket and pan are pushed over them. Everything is held in place so the bolts can be screwed in. Handy when lying on your back under the engine.

Dodge 2.5 common block oil pan gaskets come with those.

OK. Ive got a picture in my head of a barb type thing that would catch the pan and hold it nice and pretty til you can get some bolts started.
I guess some all thread could do also.

Chevy of course.

IIRC Ford last made their 427 in the 60's.

,..like that is your invention!.....I did that trick already 40 years ago when you was still sucking tit:p
I'll tell you what though, if you/me think we have an original idea I'd be willing to bet they were already doing the same thing in 1908. Seriously!
Theres not many things that are new anymore, just rebranded, redigned, rehashed ideas from 1908.

But, I still get .50 per use and its on the honor system, so if you use it just send the money to me :joyful:

Pretty much exactly what was in my head. I bet they made those out of metal in 1908.

What's with the fixation on 1908?:)

You think you have taken enough pics and videos when tearing down the engine, but there is always some place more could have been taken. Got if worked out but better pics would have helped.

And den???? Sounds nerve wracking. What's up?

Just the water pump, some studs and bolts are the same length, My other parts vehicle has a dual Tstat so it was of no help.
