I've re-installed them a few times, sometimes, the fix is short-lived, last one tho, was 2-3 years ago.
Anyways, I wanted to mention, before cleaning the area, while you can still see where it was mounted, mark on the outside of the windshield with a felt pen, that location, it aids in (almost) perfect re-alignment.
