Random question and ,BTW, I hate you bastards!

I will ask him. Probably not but it is really strong for a 6.5. I know my 2500 Sub only had 209 RWHP on the dyno the one time I ran it. I also know that no dyno slip you are blowing smoke. I will probably pay to put it on the dyno if he will. I think it is that strong. We might have to find a big truck dyno as his truck weighs so much with all the welding stuff in it.

I'm not trying to make maximum power. I really want boost at lower RPM so the rig has great pickup at lower RPM, but good air flow at higher RPM so it will make good power and pull well at higher RPM also. A turbo is best suited to a relatively narrow range of RPM. By using sequential turbos I can produce a wider usable powerband. Or so the theory goes.

Barry you a retired USN snipe or other lesser being :D, your buddy with the Dmax turbo, he do anything to beef up bottom end, or lower the CR; 25 psi boost is pretty tall order for the run of the mill 6.5 to stand up to, how far are U from Waycross?

I just did a map quest looks like you are up NW of Atlanta, keep your eyes peeled high level & very tentative discussions about a GTG for us Ga members at Diesel Depot in Sandersville in the spring, (anybody else as well not from Ga that wants to attend is welcome to come & doesn't have to be just a 6.5 or just GM owners).

My DaHoooley has a Banks exhaust, the GM4 turbo and a Heath chip.
410 gears and thats about it.

The truck runs like a scalded dog.

Up until I found this truck I had never driven a 6.5 rig that was a real power house.

This thing runs like a Big block.

When I had to do the rebuild this spring, I was nervous that all the changes might effect the power ??????/

NOPE its even better now.

Sucker is a dream to drive.

Had it on the dyno once back before the engine went down due to the cracked main web.

Was putting right at 290 at the rear wheels.

I know, with a GM4 Turbo ???????????????/

I dont understand it either but whatever is going on, it works.

Dont have any idea if the IP has been messed with.
The IP is not the original and so its anybodies guess as to whats been done if anything.

Sometimes ya get lucky with certain combinations and they work.

Sadly the engine that broke had low miles.
It was a goodwrench crate engine. 506 first batch with large outer bolts and large squirt holes.

#4 main saddle cracked and went into number 6 and 8 cylinder and water.

The 6.5 can handle 300 HP and live as long as you use your head and dont melt it.

280 mi from Waycross.

Yep, I was a nuc snipe on a sewer pipe.

The 6.5 was built from the ground up. The newest bestest block available. Arp Studs for the mains and the heads. I know he was running special pistons and he had reworked the rods. Combustion chambers on the heads and the tops of the pistons were coated white (ceramic). Gear drive cam, aftermarket heads, and other items. The man can build an engine and knows what has to be done

I had a 98 Burb:

Oh Noooo  not another Nuc this place is begining to Glow :D Wrecker & Qwomack are former USN Nucs; I'm a former former "skimmer" hole-snipe GSM on a Kidd class DDG "sewerpipe hunter". 6 years wrenching on turbines for Uniform Sierra November, then 22 years as field service for the OEMs that sold them, GE, Rolls-Royce, Siemens plus some USNR time along the way, before getting into locomotive Diesels last 2 years.

Glad you offered that up as built properly, that gets lost in translation sometimes when folks read 25 psi boost and want to apply directly to theirs.

Would be good for him to join our crew make sure you extend an invitation to him.

depending on the model 4400 shp 12 cyl or 6000 shp 16 cyl they have 1 huge turbo or 2 smaller but still big turbos, we spent this year converting 250 of them from MFI/early EFI to Tier 0 EFI, next year we have to convert a bunch to latest which is EPA 1033 regulations, next will be common rail injection for them after that, I digress what were we talking about here oh yeah I Hate You Bastards :D,

BT, Yeh, it gets complicated real quick but, I have found most of them didn't really work. I will be eliminating the one on my Dmax as soon as i get a chance.
