Racor ?'s

20amp, can be hooked up either wire pos, and either wire grd.

Thanks for the info on Napa & Weatherpak!

Its not a weatherpak connector.

I went to NAPA got the Male end, and it did insert into the female, but the locking tab needed about 1/4 " more to click....

I bought a trailer harness 2 wire, it was 2 bux for both male/female ends. Thought it was a winner.

Got home and it says not for use over 7.5a.... Wires look similar gauge as racor heater. I'll have to look at it more closely tomorrow.

Not the place you want to start a fire :)

Yea you deff. do not want a fire down there.

I cant believe that its not a weatherpak connector. By sight it looks identical. Can you still use the weatherpak connector you bought and modify the tab? or if worse came to worse you could always just use a cable tie to hold the two together.

It probably is a type of weather pack connector, just not the exact same one. GM speced everything different so parts couldn't be assembled wrong. Different catchs and tabs and slots.

I can't believe how hard it is to find a 'plug and socket' that is waterproof and can carry 20a....

I've searched for hours...

Anyone have any better luck?

Matt do me a favor if you do get one post up info about and how well they work. I am maybe needing one for a project but, am reluctant to pay the premium for one.

Thanks

Will do. I'll order one up tomorrow, so in a few weeks you'll have my review! Then in a few weeks after that, i'll expose it to severe cold, rain, salt, sand, slush, and snow.... I'll do that for about 4-5 months, and let you know how she holds up!

Nope the vac switch direct from Racor was only $27 when I bought it, that is what I used when I get >7" vac the switch contacts close and I get a red LED that comes on to let me KNOW when the filter/(s) needs changing.

Several vendors out there can get the switch (Racor pn RK20163) set for 7" Hg,

I'm thinking when I notice lower FP on my gauge, Its going to be one of the 2 filters. If I have the one on the racor to read, and its good, then that leaves the other.

I like the dummy light, but Tired of wiring things up... lol.. I still need to wire up another toggle switch to run my rear tank pump to xfer it.

And of course a 2nd fuel gauge, so I can monitor the amount of fuel in rear tank.... I already have 5 toggles, and removing my dash panel its got too many wires all over it from the inside :)

I figure stick this indicator so when I drain the water bowl, I can see it there. The "memory" is nice too.

I have 2 switches one on each filter, plus the gauge to the IP peanut LED at Radio Shack comes on when vac across filter gets too high always connected, what I see is when filter starts to get dirty it will flicker on hard acceleration, which seems to activate/respond faster than loss at the IP mechanical gauge does, so a little earlier warning to pending total filter blockage, low amps, 22 ga wire is more than adequate for it to work.
