Project 350HP update

Yep, I remember you talking about it. Nice work! I picked up on your glow-plug extender, just seemed like an opportune time to mention that we had an easy-to-follow write-up about it in the Tech Library... since the question was raised about starting lowered-compression engines in the cold, it seemed appropriate.

I also noticed your observation about the WAP glows, so I didn't figure you needed my 2 bits on that topic.. I hate those things. You'll like the duraterms - they just don't burn out with the extended glow mod.

I have 2 heaters, myself... seems like the simple way to get good starts with one of these beasties. Here in Alberta, it's practically a must-do.

Thanks for the clarifications! It's great to have people with know-how chime in on different engines... this motor is very much different from other diesels, from gassers, and from ricers... many of the same ideas that work elsewhere just don't work here. Others work just fine... the real art is figuring out which is which!

No Dyno run.

No Run for me, weather wasn't as predicted for the week (thank you meteorologist). Too cold and nasty. Shooting for this next weekend, I gotta do some repair now too as the alternator decided to fail.

All I can say is, I hate snow. I don't know how any one likes this crap.

Snowed in, can't even drive a truck anywhere. My only mode of transportation is a Honda 4Wheeler, been that way for 3 days now. Boredome has set in hard core.

where you located weve had around a foot of snow and its been blowin like hell for the last 2 days drifts are huge wind finlly quit today

So more than a month later and no updates... hmmmmmmm

I talked to the owner of this truck about a week ago, the original builder left some crucial things unfinished, and made off with some of the cheese, to hear what transpired shocked me to say the least.

I'll not air dirty laundry on the forum as it would be heresay on my part, PM 635 if you want 1st hand experience.

Project is on hiatus until some things get put in order.
