Project 350HP update

Ian, when you say it will be available this winter, is it too late to subscribe and get the article out of either magazine?

Nope, now would be the perfect time to subscribe to both magazines. I believe the MaxxTorque article will come out around January 2010 and the Diesel World should be on stands for the April issue which is for sale usually around March. This will not be the last 6.5 article in either magazine. I have spoken with both editors and they say as long as I can continue to provide quality material than the readers will continue to see there support with 6.5 related articles.

I wonder if you could do a series of articles on 6.5 mods for reliability and performance. Maybe start with a stock truck and keep adding mods for future issues. It would be nice to use TTS for a reference source.

This is something I have wanted to do for a long time but when I first got my truck I had everything we made on it within the first week. So stock was out of the question. I do invite anyone with a bone stock good running 6.5 to step forward so we can talk about this potential article.

My truck is bone stock but, it is a 1993 mechanically injected manual transmission truck.

Plus I live in Texas!

Currently in MO.

Here is a little sample of all the gauges going into this truck build. There are going to be 13 gauges total plus the Snow LCD display. I would say if this truck ever has a problem the driver will know about it.

I was pleased to see the photo of the gauges being blurry. This was you can guess what every gauge is!

You get that truck up to speed on the highway with all the mist- propane - nox flowing simultaneously whith one eye looking out for the Polizei...those gauges will be plenty blurry.):h

Hope it all gets in the way you like it. I still think you'll need a console out of a Peterbuilt or Kenworth to house them all.:D

I have an almost bone stock truck. Aside from the gauges I just added (fuel pressure, turbo, & EGT) the only things not stock on my burb a heath t/m (w/ vacuum pump removed), relocated oil filter, K&N, & Lube spec oil cooler and lines. I am looking at a 97 2wd (bone stock) right now that supposedly has a bad IP. We'll see.

Depending on my time frame I might be able to get you parts at a much reduced rate and have you add them one by one and dyno each part as they are added. By the end of summer you could have all the major performance parts on and a step by step dyno chart to tell what each product did for the truck. This way I could write something up about the entire build. It would take time and some money on your part but if you or someone out there is willing than I would try to do what I could to help you out.

I have been spending a lot of time working over some universal gauge pods to fit on the dash so everything has a home and doesn't look pieced together. It takes a lot of time, a heat gun, body filler, and paint but it should look very nice when it is done.

Oh, NOW you tell me! LOL.

That there's a great offer, Rodd... y'all better jump all over that.

Chance of a lifetime Rodd... Makes me wish my truck wasn't all 'suped up' :) lol,... nobody wants to read about a dually utility body anyhow, but me of course!
