For anyone contemplating adding a filter, a word of advice. Salt and aluminum do not get along well, and the salt will eat an aluminum filter mount up in a few years. Moral of story, put something on it to protect it against the salt: paint, grease, Line-x, whatever. :cheers2:
Good idea on both. Had not thought about saving $ on not changing the OEM as often.
Most mounts are aluminum billet aren't they?
I live in FL so road salt isn't an issue. I did paint the get-up before installing it though.
Also don't drive off road or on gravel roads, so I saw no need to armor plate the filter housing.
