Power Steering Pump Hose Routing

Yeah that looks like it has it on the end of the pipe. just check the orifice size with a drill bit and compare to the one on the end of the evo one. if it's smaller it would be made for without a booster. all you would need to do is drill out the center, I can't recall the size but 11/64th seems to ring a bell.

Slow down. This is a new unit from Napa with a lifetime warranty. I expect it to work out of the box. I am willing to do the bypass which would confirm or eliminate the sender (my part) being the problem. The rest is on them and their lifetime warranty. If it’s the pump, I will request a refund and buy the AC Delco unit. I have 2 weeks to get this done.

Drove over to talk to Wayne at Eagle Watch Automotive about my power steering pump issues. Showed him pics of the new slotted plunger vs the old plunger and he said no that is not a sealing surface. Showed him videos of the rotating sender and he said that is normal.

He asked if I had bled it with the engine off and no I had not after install of the new one. He said that he has had some that behaved like this and they were air locked with a huge air bubble which eventually worked its way out. So it looks like I will try again with my sender, before trying with my bypass.

I mentioned that twice on the gmt400 thread.
I try to shorten my answers for you since you commented they were too long.
Were my responses there not detailed enough?
I know you did. Just came in from an extended effort on bleeding it with the engine off and the original eco and sender. I does not work.

The general rule with parts:
Lifetime warranty on new parts means it is a really high quality.
Lifetime warranty on rebuilt parts means you will be replacing it often.
In this case it’s Napa placing its lifetime warranty on new parts made in China. Same
China that can’t make a turbojet engine that lasts longer than 30 days in a fighter jet. All that said, I’m willing to bet the AC Delco pumps are also made in China.

Only one way to find out. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if the ACDELCO pumps were also made in.China.

Might be better off with a low mileage used pump. If such a thing could be found

It is not just about all the Chinese stuff now.
For decades, rebuilt ds4, rebuilt power steering pumps and boxes, rebuilt alternators, rebuilt a/c compressors, all tend to suck.

If you are taking a good working db2 or injectors and have it gone through by someone who knows what they are doing- and you get back your part- that usually is good.

I’m not saying it is an outright mistake. People who have a hard time affording the better parts can make up for it by spending 4 times the labor at home.
But when you can afford the proper new part on certain items it is better to just buy new.

I will give it one more shot (pump). If it’s bad again, then I will go AC Delco.

I will note that I have a $300 AC Delco encoder motor purchased off Amazon that was BOTB as confirmed by my mechanic.

Sad but true.
That suppose to be AC Delco coolant pump I bought sure was.
