If all go's to plan I will be painting the beast this weekend (actualy Monday)
Going to do a two tone Black/Red.
Will take pictures along the way.

What type and brand of paint? Which truck? How many hours have you spent on prep for paint?:D:eek:

Im starting on it today. I will be using BASF Diamont base/clear coat. Panels are in very good condition just a very small amont of filler to dewave some spots. Basicaly its a "scuff and shoot"
The roof is the worst part.

I envy you not having to deal with the salt damage that we have up here. The last one I painted was a 82 olds 98 regency w/5.7 diesel. Took me 6 weeks.I used a single stage Martin Senour urathane. It shined like the day I painted it ,10 years later.

I got most of the truck striped down as far as the trim/chrome....today. Only had three hours to work on it. Tomorrow and all weekend will be full days. Forgot to bring the camera, so will take some tomorrow. Just got to get the bumpers off then jump into the body work.

Updated [ictures

This is the beast before body work, but after trim removal

Forgot to say, got the paint Black and red all the reducers/hardners for $1000 that not even sand paper, tape, filler, primer.......ect
I was shocked. The red is over $500 a gallon (I got 2 qts)

I like your hood, should see more 6.5s with cowl induction hoods.

Thank you. I was going to make another post on this. Do you guys think it would look better with chrome letters or flat blacked out? Blacked out would make it very suttle and hard to see on black paint.

Also. I would make sure the letters are straight:mad2: Ignore the filler dust

I agree. That hood looks sweet. I think my 95 is gonna be getting a 2" single cowl, but the dual looks sweet too.

Im gonna have to say red on the letters too. Should match the red two tone nice

Thats true, I forgot about matching the two tone. I think black is cool too. I will paint one of each and let ya'll see.

Got the filler done and primed.

Using a reverse masking technique. Thats why all the paper. It makes the primer line very soft and easy to feather out.

I like the reverse paper idea. I'm not painter by anymeans, but I can't stand that sharp tape line. Looks like a mosaic. :)
