Ok here is the deal...all suggestions welcome!

Took the day off today to check out a few things on the Tahoe.

It would not run anymore then maybe a minute & not well either, no or erratic pedal response.

Checked codes found code 35 ARRRG!

Removed the fuel shut off solenoid that was not the problem...that's gonna stay out.

The make shift O ring in the bottom of the fuel heater was dripping, fixed that with another make shift O ring, still the same thing, no luv.

Checked fuel pressure, that looked good, little over 5 psi with the LP running, truck off right about 5 psi truck at idle. Might drop to 3 when I could get the engine to rev up to 2K.

About 2 weeks ago I installed the new gray Stanadyne PMD...Hmmmmm!

I found an old unknown black stanadyne PMD in the garage, installed it with the old extension cable & VIOLA it started & ran like new...WTF!

Left it idling went in the house, it died after 4~5 min. ArrrrrrGGG! It started right back up & has been running now for about 1/2 hr. I'm skeerd to try & take it anywhere...it's still idling in the driveway...

FRIGGIN BS!

Perhaps bad connection in the IP harness that you made new connections with the differnent PMD cables. Give it a shake while its running, see if it dies.

Already done harness shaking before & after I changed PMD's...nutta.

I would like to try that new cable & PMD on my 1500 before I send it in for replacement, kinda skeerd though, that the disease might be contagious...!

I had a '95 before my Suburban. The previous owners mechanic installed a switch on the CTS for cold starting. I sold the truck to a guy to haul a Corvette back from Chicago...he left the day after he bought it. I got a call about 2 days later, he could not get it started just outside of Chicago...it was -2f. I told him about the switch (again) and it fired right up. If you change your starter disassemble the old one as the brushes tend to break off in these units. They brushes are relatively cheap to buy at a rebuild shop.

Buddy I started the Tahoe this morning 8 DegF here, three revolutions & bam it fired right off. Not plugged in ether, cause the block heater needs replaced.

I also checked the values for both CTS & IAT values in both trucks, they reading correctly.

Both trucks pulling 10.5 v during the glow cycles also.

Did you check the block heater itself?

I had one block heater that was bad for a couple of weeks but it turned out to be just the cord. I replaced the cord and the block heater was fixed.

Any idea what they charge to rehab a 6.5 starter?
I don't Jeff, sorry. IIRC, they pretty much charge a flat fee for the rehab and if it needs any extras they add on. I think my Ford 2000 tractor starter was around $65 complete a few years ago.
Just give 'em a call.
