Oil Bypass filter installation

The wix 24755 base I have does not have a restrictor in it, and comes without fittings. The inlet and outlet are female 1/8 pipe thread.

The recent input has got me thinking. Since mine is what appears to be a full flow dual filter setup. I can't remember who posted the pic w/ a dual setup w/ a regulating spring that is a true bypass filter setup. I was wondering could a spring be added to one w/ a non existing spring? If not where could I get one of those housings w/ the spring?

What about putting a plug in the heads return passage side between the two filter ports, effectively seperating the two filter outlets. Then run a second return line for the second filter(bypass) from the port on that end of the filter head to the oil filler kneck on the engine.

I think this would work better than the amsoil setup because there would be no pressure on the bypass filters outlet, effectively flowing/filtering more oil. It would be the best of both worlds, remote mounted full flow filter with unrestricted flow on the bypass filters return.

Plus your you can monitor your bypass filters flow as someone mentioned and your timing chain stays happy with plenty of lube.
