I have a 95 6.5 TD Burb. Heath Remote PMD. The fuel lift pump is wired to come on anytime the key is on. Frybrid WVO conversion.
Everything was fine until last week As it switched to veggie the fuel pressure dropped to zero, and I immediately switched back to diesel. Pulled over to the side of the road as the motor died. Upon opening the hood I found that the fuel line at the top of the IP ruptured. Replaced the fuel line, pulled the intake on the IP and cleaned the screen (had a little of the fuel line in it). Cranked the motor, and it no workee. Had it towed to the house. I have New batteries (last week) and a good starter. I have no codes, good fuel pressure to the IP (6 psi). Checked fuses, all good. double checked the fuel shut off solenoid, and it works fine. Fuel flows out of the fuel shut off port with the solenoid removed. There is very little, fuel flow from the return line out of the IP. And yes it is diesel. doubt that little if any veggie entered the system. I have tried my spare PMD and still no fuel to the injector lines. Can it be a bad IP even though there are no codes??? Any ideas??? Please help.

I am in Missouri. Switches at 160 degrees. but as I said, the fuel line blew upon switching. (diesel pump pressure 6 psi, veg fuel pump pressure 12) If veg waxed up in the ip will if have to be replaced or is there a way to clean it out. I do have diesel in the return line and have a sight glass installed in return line. It was always full of diesel. Not to say NO veggie entered the IP. there are no codes on the scan tech. but there is also no diesel going to the injectors. I have loosed the injector lines to all the injectors on the drivers side (easiest to get to) all are dry on cranking. I have also pulled the wire plug loose from the Optical sensor to see if I could get it to fire in limp fuel mode. Still no fuel to the Injectors

You can buy an additive that will dissolve any gelled fuel. Gelled WVO is most likely your problem.

I keep some on hand and IIRC the brand is Polar meltdown.

Where do I get this at? I have not seen this in the truck stop, the autoparts store or Wal Mart. (I'll do a goggle search) Do I add it to the fuel in the tank or somehow feed it into the IP?

You just add it to the fuel tank. I would pour some into your fuel filter manager as well.

Where to get it in Missouri? I would ask at a truck stop or bulk fuel distributor for the Ag. industry.

i can see only 2 reasons for the return line to rupture.A plugged return line down stream of the IP,or a rotted IP return hose.

Do you have full fuel flow at the IP inlet?
If not, there is a possibillity the IP supply line is collapsed, maybe switching to veg oil(higher press) folded a piece of the rubber wall and plugged the hose?.

The fuel line ruptured just BEFORE the intake to the IP. I have TWO fuel pumps, that is why the higher pressure. There was a little piece of rubber hose in the screen on the IP intake, cleaned that when we replaced the fuel line. There is fuel to the IP. When I pulled the fuel shut off solenoid and switched on the fuel, it flowed out like an artesian well.

Any updates?

I had to use my stash of Melt down today, -35*C. Bulk fuel tank was filled in late Sept. or early Oct., was probably good for -15*C

Update.
Got some fuel treatment anti gel good to 35 below. (it was mid 50's here today) I removed the fuel shut off solenoid and the fuel intake. The IP was empty, no fuel dry. I filled it up with the fuel treatment and replaced the intake and fuel shut off. Re-verified everything working. dumped the rest of the fuel treatment into the fuel tank. Still have all four lines loose at the injectors on the drivers side. I disconnected the glow plug circuit and cranked the motor. Let it rest and cranked it again. No fuel to cylinders. :nonod: Checked the return line. Not much flow, if any. Now every time I crank it I do notice fuel running down the back of the motor. But not unless it is cranking. :???: A cracked IP housing or something where it cannot pump any more??? Time to order a replacement I am sure.

My guess is,one or both bolts broke holding the fuel solenoid(back center of IP) to the rotor head, that would explain no fuel to the injectors.
Could also be a popped shaft seal(fuel side),should still start though.

Both conditions will have fuel running down the valley
