NEW MODS: injectors, ATT, WMI and more!!!!

I would do some research on putting the water in pre-turbo. A couple of guys i know that did this on cars had issues with the water eating the compressor blades. The water droplets hitting the fan that is spinning at 100,000 rpm sort of sandblasted it.:(

ANy notice in increase in mpg's with the att??? I am VERY interested and am thinking about getting one

Diesel slug read 'replacement turbo' thread.

Everyone reports gains from 1-3mpg, nobody less. ITs inevitable, less backpressure to create boost, = engine working less = more efficient turbo = mpg gains.

I would be hesitant to inject the water before the turbo unless it was a fine mist. I don't have any data on how that would affect the life of the turbo. I have to say that I think you may have the best all around set up right now.

I also have never saw over 1200 degree exhaust temps pre turbo with my truck and I have a Heath HP-4 and a few other fuel tweaks to net me as much fuel as I can get. I like the added efficiency the WMI system adds, steam has much more energy in it to drive the turbo. I would be interested in seeing a dyno number off of your truck, you may be surprised at your tourque and hp numbers.

Well the pre turbo nozzle is a 1gph so it is a super fine mist but I am still leary to try it. I have an SSD chip in my truck and I think it is a lot of the reason I see such high EGT's. I have been thinking about getting one of Heaths chips but I figure if I am going to spend the money again I might as well wait and see if Bill ends up making a tune for the ATT. As far as gas mileage goes yes I have seen an increase in town I am seeing about 1.6 better and on the highway about 2.4. This is after running the turbo for about 2 months now. Also Ed I have two pyrometers, there is a funny story to go with that, I got the first kit they made and it was designed to piggyback off the pyrometer I had but they didn't work together so I had to do some testing with the owner over the phone and the solution ended up being a second pyrometer, which the owner of the company bought and shipped to my out of his own pocket. I know they are cheap but that is saying something about a company when they do that. Can I post a link to the kit or is that not allowed?

That is a pretty consistent mileage increase, compared with other installs. Mine fuel mileage went up 1 in the city and 3 on the highway. I don't have any experience with the SSD chips so I can't comment. I don't know if Mr. Heath is going to do a tune for the ATT. I have not had any feedback from Turbine Doc, he has been the person spearheading that project.

I have to say I am impressed with your attention to detail when noting changes and recording details. Nice post, real nice, the way you broke it down and documented the changes.

Extremesounds,

Have you tried the WMI with straight H2O? I know the meth is to help with power, but I would like to know if it assists with cooling.

oilburner I have not tried just water yet, but it is on the list to do, with the 20% ratio I am running now I am real happy with the cooling and the added power is way nice. I know the meth is there to help burn off the water, but I would like to see what happens with just water, as long as it doesn't bog the engine without the meth, then I would think cooling would be huge. So next time I tow I will do just that and let everyone know of the results.
Slim- thanks for the props, I wanted to detail every change this way because I myself have been wondering about these products for some time and I figured if I was going to install them I would do it right one at a time and post result for everyone to see, hoping to help anyone out there like myself.

Nope,

Experience has shown far better to make it work 1st, before discussing it, for all nay saying that follows of why it can't be done, ATT wasn't supposed to work when 1st discussed at Diesel Page, rather than argue it, Slim ran with it, told me about it and I decided to do at same time he did it, my truck is used on my "tree farm" so I get a tax break to help offset "repairs" (R&D stuff) I do on my truck, will be working with Slim on these other ideas we have been pondering off & on for a while.

Slim and Doc,
You guys are awesome, but you are killing me with anticipation!!

This is worse than Christmas.

does this mean someone considering the purchase of an ATT should wait, perhaps see what is coming down the pipeline next? Don't want to buy an ATT then find out there is a better turbo upgrade that makes the ATT obsolete.
That's kind of what I've done with the Heath ecm. I've been wanting one for years, and while I haven't made the leap to order one, I keep noticing every so often they are upgraded. By the time I actually save up the money, they'll probably be in their tenth generation...

Ace as far as how much it uses, it is all going to depend on your pump pressure and the nozzle size you use but with my set up I have a six gallon tank and I went 520 miles and still had about half a gallon left. The first part of that trip I had an empty car hauler so I didn't use it a ton but I did use it. Then the second part of the trip the car hauler was loaded and I was driving through mountains and canyons that were pretty respectable as far as grades, so I used it practically the whole time. Hope that gives you a better idea.
