New here

He mentioned above but this needs to be understood-
The grounds need to be REMOVED, scrubbed clean- replacing ring if needed, wire wheel the stud it attaches to and reinstalled. You have to get ALL the grounds on the engine especially the negative battery cable.

a good time to do them at the batteries too.

I've heard that the Bosch injectors are a good choice. Has anybody upgraded to the higher flowing water pump?

Buy the injectors from Leroy. Yes they are the bosch and we know they aren’t knock offs. Also a descent price. https://leroydiesel.com/products/bosch-injector-set-of-8-brand-new-no-core/

The marine ones are only if you have a heavy built 6.2/6.5 with a big turbo and modified pump. A complete rebuild for handling all the power is a flat requirement in that relm.
Since you can get descent power with better turbo and proper tune, with other bolt ons- stay with stock level injectors. Those bosch from Leroy have been tested out to be in balance by others here that bought them. Bosch had a hiccup when the first moved production to India, but has since brought it to top quality.

BIG FAT NO to that waterpump. AC Delco balanced flow only.
the cooling system getting dialed in is it’s own descent size project well worth doing.
A few pictures of the thermostat crossover you have is helpful. If you know 100% it is a dual stat unit- then you want the bypass restriction fitting going into that balanced flow waterpump. A better option is the single stat WITH BLOCK OFF crossover and no restrictor fitting.
Then get the electro viscous fan clutch, fan, and controller that AK Diesel Driver shows in his thread.
Having an aftermarket quality gauge reading from right rear head while you drive.
200 good
210 worry and watch the gauge more than you do the road
220 pull over now!
Only exception is someone is dying and you are willing to ruin your engine for the cause.

Many of us prefer a 180° stat instead of the 195. Some people see a tiny drop in mpg but some don’t. Just more headroom incase of an error.

How about the Duramax fan blade?

Well if you do the electro viscous fan clutch the AK diesel driver shows in his thread- NO. You meed the fan that fits that fanclutch. It the best system available currently imo.

If you go with the other fan clutch then yes. Which “other” fan clutch becomes the next question. Well, used to be me and a few dozen others would say the kennedy clutch. But now there is reported problems from them. There is a couple ofher hayden clutches that some folks had good luck with, but others had issues with them as well.

A couple huge advantages of the one AK diesel driver shows is you set the temperature it comes in on. So if you rather it on sooner at expense of mpg, or later for better mpg but still in time- you can adjust it to exactly your environment and use. Also you can force it on anytime you want.
Also you can choose to add a trinary switch and have it cone on when the a/c needs it.
A bonus for serious off roaders is turning it off when in deep water.

is your rig on a truck or van chassis? I haven't had the opportunity to work on a 6.5 van chassis, but some other vans I have messed with can be a real PIA to get the dog house removed (engine cover under center of dash) some you have to almost remove most of the dash to get them to clear!

Sorry, it took me a while to get back to you. I have two other projects on my plate and the truck has to wait its turn. I do have a couple of pictures. The second picture is of under the hood to the back passenger side where the grounds are.

@JayTheCPA . Just dumb question..what do you mean there is back and forth about the#9 resistor?....you said you think better to remove it and make adjustments with the programming...I was under the impression that it couldn't run without a resistor...now why I'm confused is because when I first joined tts I was told to check which resistor was in it ...I pulled the plug and found that there was NO resistor in it at all but it ran fine..in fact when I tried putting one in ,it wouldn't plug together with resistor in....so does that mean prior owner must have done something with the programing ? To this day still don't have one in (though truck isn't running so we'll anymore lol)

Welp, at least it is a truck style chassis. I was thinking it was a ban type of a configuration, those are a little rougher to work on. In My opinion.
Appears to be a lot of wires over where the grounds are nutted down. Possibly some of those looms has bounced on the grounding wires, causing strands to break within the wires insulation. Usually real close to the terminal. Check those over real good, try be ding the wire using the terminal as a lever, see if some bends real easy.
