New Heath turbo

Wow... what a clean nice looking 6.5 you have there Paveltolz. Glad to hear you have gotten the bugs worked out. I was disappointed when Heath stopped offering the s-84. I was excited that another non wastegated turbo was being made available to the market.

I knew he was offering the newer P-38 but wasn't aware he had discontinued the S-84...just talked to him last Friday too.
The word on the P-38 you probably got but it will deliver boost earlier but delivers a little less at the high end...the above silly end where you and I tend to play.
"Normal people won't see the difference" was what I was told because they won't be reving high enough or stretching it out far enough to notice.
Once supply normalizes I'll have a loaner for a while to put through paces. Maybe later in the winter around February. Roads should be good then....

I have not spoken to Bill directly about the s-84 being discontinued but when I called and spoke to Joe about the chip for The 95 K2500 GMC we discussed the the p-38 and I mentioned my disappointment in the s-84 being no longer available. I gathered that they felt without a wastegate on a stock truck with no mods from a simple replacement turbo perspective that the average joe would not be happy with response on the s-84. I guess it would be like putting a big cam in a gasser with no gear, no stall, no headers, and a small carb. Ditto on the top end loss not being noticed... I believe the way it was put to me in most normal driving situations there is no difference in power between the turbos.
