New 6.5

Thanks db, yes I’ve been trying to use the one on DP. Boy I really like the one you have on Google Drive. Thanks. Also thanks to you and Chris for the torque specs it will be a big help.
when you have time, download a copy of those in google drive. I will leave them up online as long as google allows it, but save them to your pc or e-reader device. they are all from that link in DP.

hi all, getting my 6.5 back together. Trying to figure out injection line mounting. I should have to pic,s of the lines before disassembling. I found a diagram on line for a DS4 injection line mounting.

I went ahead and attempted to mount the lines See photos. Shouldn’t there be a bottom bracket on the two hole bracket mounted to the intake bolts (pic 2 )that holds down the lines? I only took off and have 3 of them, not enough of them. Did find some NOS straps on eBay but pricey. Also not sure if the two hole strap goes on top of the intake stud or under it. I did learn that the one hole strap pictured over the valve cover goes under the intake🤯. Looks like I’ll be removing intake again🤯. I do have a question about sealing the threads on 4 of the intake bolts. Four of them look like they thread into the cooling passages in the heads, the rest of them dead end into the head casting. I guess I should rtv the threads of the 4 bolts in question.View attachment 83666IMG_0195.jpeg

First off, none of the intake bolts are wet holes. In your pic, you have one metal strap on the top of a set of lines, there should be a strap on top and under to sandwich the rubber, this way in 3 locations, the 4th will be a single strap that wraps around the rubber and mounts on a single bolt.

also the straps go on the studs above the bolt head with a nut over them. my factory intake bolts don't have anything but the hex going down onto the intake and was chewing up the intake. I added flat washers on each of the bolts so to stop the chewing effect. the two center bolts on each side of the intake are though bolt holes into the valley of the engine. I think that is why the book calls for some sealant on the threads. I have never used any sealant or seen an issue, though the last time I pulled my intake I did see some oil on the head and bottom side of the intake in that area, not much though. but I think that was due to the turbo pulling in some oil from the CDR.

Yes I have seen that diagram. I do not think that’s for my 95’ DS4. It shows the one hole clamps on the edge of the valve covers. I believe the one hole clamps go on the lines under the intake. TSP that’s goof to hear
that the four threaded holes in the heads don’t go into the cooling passages. I thought I might be short on the two clamps that bolt to the intake studs. I only had three. As I stated before my old IP had a white sticker on it with a date on it. The IP was replaced sometime and they must of lost the rest of the two hole straps. Maybe I’ll fab some up. That’s a good idea to use washers under the studs. Mine did not. I’ll use thread sealant on the 4 intake studs that go into the passages. You think it will mess with the torque settings of the bolts? Guys as always thanks a lot for all you input.IMG_0199.jpeg
