Hey guys,

I just ran onto a 1994 C2500HD Suburban, gloss white, blue interior, , has front and rear a/c, and front heat. super clean by description, and by pictures. recent front brakes. It is in Boise ID.

now the bad. over 300K miles, guy wants to keep the whole fuel injection system (less than 6K miles since new) the nice d-max generation alloys are sold, so now it is on bald tires on steel rims, missing the third row (still has the seat belt brackets and bench mounts), and the turbo system is valued highly by the owner. radiator and receiver hitch pulled, but not sold, alternator gone, LF outside door handle missing, LF door lock actuator missing, airbox gone (flat panel, who cares) and that is about it.

so what do you guys think I should offer? my cheap old man's advice is 100 bucks  I am thinking 500, but I feel that may insult the owner and I am thinking of 750 with the radiator, but leave the receiver, and let him keep the fuel injection system and turbo system.

What do you guys think? any input appreciated, thank you!

My first thought is why was he parting it out in the first place? I think that you are probably right in line with the 500 to 750 range. start low you can always go up and very seldom come down. just my 2 cents

$3-400. That is all a junkyard would give him ,if that.

Saving something from the junkyard is just a black hole for cash. Bad engine, trans, ??? Why the part out? Rusty?

well the deal was the original owners blew an oil cooler line, sold it to a junkyard, and this guy bought it from the junkyard to have his own personal junker, beings that the fuel injection system is near new, and he has a white diesel suburban as well, but in 4wd, so some powertrain and most body parts is what he was after, but I imgagine since there is no way he will let the fuel system go, then that is probably why he bought it.

He says he wants to pull the motor to do this, but promises not to damage anything, and also has said anything removed up till now has been removed with care as well.

so do you guys think that 400 bucks w/o injection system, hitch, or turbo system, but w/ radiator is a nice place to start at? or is that too insultive?

Won't be much left for parts. What would you plan to do with it. To revive would be costly, time and money.$2-300

I was thinking of reviving the ol girl, mainly because of that body! and how often do you find a clean, white, 2wd suburban? :)

I personally think that with a good complete engine, there would not be much to put back in, since i would get a K47 for the airbox, then I would only need a door handle, lock actuator, receiver hitch, radiator, oil cooler kit, and good wheels and tires. plus, if I get the long block thrown in, then there should be some heads that may be useable. (surely the main or rod bearings would lock way before valvetrain damage, right? )

I am thinking of giving the guy a generic offer range of 300-700 bucks, not even pinning down a price. I am not sure what he is thinking, so I feel a wide range is best.

Seems like a fair offering to me.
I just spent a few hundred on a hitch, 2 turbo elbows, heat shields, bumper brackets, PVC etc.

I'd rather start with a clean body than a good engine.

300 bucks.

Seems like all you're getting is a frame, interior and a body minus the front end.

Maybe go up to 400.

If you say 300-700, all he's going to hear is "700".....

When he removes what is on the list,he should haul it to you and pay to leave it.
Time and mony to replace all the parts you can buy a nice one.

It looks nice, I like my 94 style interior and engine config. I'd give him $500 at most with blown engine and no tranny or fuel injection system. by that, did he take the whole engine harness out, all sensors and PCM, or just the IP and lines?

Book out it's private party resale value. If you can get it running for that or less... And it will be in better shape.

How well do the doors fit? New latches and bushings needed? Scrap metal value is at least $200.00. The turbo is also scrap metal from no oil along with a good chance the engine block is cracked beyond reuse. You may want to let the owner know the turbo he has prized is toast so it isn't sitting around as junk.

The front end and rear end may need rebuilds.

So do you need a complete restoration project? The bright side is you will know the engine and transmission will be good vs. a running one at full price.

supposedly everything will stay but the injection pump and injectors. he has a 95 4x4 diesel sub that these will be spares for.
