My Water to Air intercooler install

Looking great, Nate! Considered LineX'ing the whole thing in flat or semigloss black when you're done with the metalwork/priming? It would end any worries of rock chips or spot rusting.

Oh no!!! I like line x, but he is getting that way to perfectly blended to do anything other than paint, powdercoat, or chrome. Personally I would get black paint as close to matching the truck as possible.

Thanks Husker! I might use Line X or something similar on the deflector pieces, but I think if it was on the whole front bumper it would like less integrated into the whole truck. In my mind, I can picture it almost looking factory if I can execute it properly....time will tell though.

I spent some time on the bumper with the DA and I got it to a point where it's ready for the sandblaster - well except that I still have to come up with how the reinforcement struts will mount to the back side of the radiator shroud. That will happen on the next test fitment.

It's not perfect, no, but I also don't have the skills or tools the dudes that work for Foose, Kindig, etc do. I'm also not building a show truck either. With a little primer sanding and maybe a little putty (thought I'm hoping not) it should look great on the Hoe. Oh also if you look you can see that there are plenty of scratches and gouges in the bumper from when it was stamped so it's going to have some of those regardless since I don't want to work on the thinner bumper metal too much for fear of grinding it too thin. That's another reason I've decided to not work on the other parts of the bumper either - I don't want to grind through welds or make metal otherwise too thin. I think I've found a very happy medium. Also I spent some time on one of the lower deflectors with the 80 grit flap wheel and it turned out really well! I also hit it with the DA, but I was out of sanding pads so i couldn't put a fresh one on to really do some good smoothing. Regardless I'm very pleased!!

I still have to finish the two ends: I need to make the mouth for the hook complete

And I need to finish the corner by the wheel well.

Lots of progress in just a little bit of time tonight! (Only about an hour)

You realize that with your motor, you're going to have to put a high speed paint job on that, don't you Nate?

I have a friend here in Lincoln who works in the paint shop at Duncan Aviation painting private jets like Lears and Avantis (and the occasional 757, etc) he could shoot ya up with some of that two-part epoxy paint that stays on at 600+MPH!
I do like me some good old-fashioned overkill..... :punch:
