The chunk of steel I started with had been flame cut and wasn't very square. Spent quite a bit of time just getting it square. Still need to buy some bolts to finish it off.

Tool turret. My lathe mill combo tool turret has square headed bolts that squeeze the tooling and the business ends are finish tapered with a dimple in the middle. I bet you could fashion some just as effective.

Crafty piece there.

So in prep for making the bushings for my forklift, I had a 3 jaw I've been wanting to get installed so I took off the backing plate and chucked it up in my large 4 jaw and got it centered. Turned out the inside to about the right size for my threaded bushing a friend of mine made me. The I installed the threaded bushing on the lathe and turned it down so it was a press fit in the backing plate. Pressed it in and welded it up. Then I installed the backing plate on the lathe and faced it true and made sure the step was good. Runs awesomely true! Next I made a boring bar tool holder. Kinda fought it broke a drill bit off in it. Started off to have 3 bolts but with the broken drill bit stuck in it I cut it down to 2 bolts. Steel I was using was actually kinda gummy.IMG_20160408_153653.jpg IMG_20160408_153708.jpg IMG_20160408_153639.jpg

Have you moved around and used the press on shells much yet? I'm really thinking about stealing your idea...

Just had a friend send me this video. Check out the grinder stand idea-
Fast forward to 5:40.
