My new toy.

But see, I don't consider your bikes a fashion statement. I could easily look at your bike and tell if it's been riden or not. Then look at you and how you look, get on and ride your bike and tell very quickly if you've riding a while or if you are just a weekend bar-hopper. It's no different than looking at your truck and I can tell you if a professional has worked on it or a shadetree.

I think you know the guys I'm talking about ;) They saw it on tv, figured "I need one of those", plopped down the credit card and off they go......instant badboy. Aahh, who's for me to judge :nono: Riders have changed over the years, but we are all still riders and I would do anything for them no matter what they ride.

I don't fault people for trailering their bikes either. A long time ago I did and you would never catch my bike on a trailer back then, but I later found there is reasoning behind it and everyone's story is different. Just like my buddy that's been riding for......hmmm 30ish years, I guess. He's got more miles under his helmet than I could ever dream of, but he has a motorhome toyhauler and hauls the bike to many events....why? His wife has MS and gets around on an electric wheelchair only. He rides an old Yamaha Venture with a side car for her to fit in and a wheelchair lift attached to the back of the bike, but it's just for a normal wheelchair, not the electric. So anything more than a dinner ride is out of the question.

I trailer my Ducati quite frequently. If you've ever riden a Ducati Superbike in a straight line for longer than 5 minutes you'll know what I'm talking about. that would make anyone get off and say- woowee, I'll take a ridged chopper anyday. ):h Plus, with all the boring roads and traffic around here, I can take the house to the hill country, then ride and come back to my house and relax. All while the wife does her own thing. :smile5:

I firmly belive that any bike looks it's least cool when parked outside the bar.

I frequent Shady Jacks in St. louis. Great biker bar. You see everything from $60,000 customs, to rat bike to antiques to thing that make you go.. UGH.

Nothing I like more than to watch a guy on a Big Dog (for some reason, that brand attracts the douchebags) wheel up on his new peniscycle, and then get deflated because nobody give a flying shit. (BTW, anyone who leaves their full leathers ON in a bar or restraunt is a douchebag)

I bought my Streetglide to ride it, not to play dress up.

I do know the ones you are talking about, only riden to a local biker bar or Bike night, trailered to shows, five years old with 300 miles on it.

Rode to a bike show in Roanoke VA, 312 miles from my house and took First in the Soft Tail class, which was any soft tail bike including Big Dogs and such. Really pissed a lot of them off, becuase my bike had more miles on it than any ten of the others soft tail miles added together

You mention Trailering, I have rode to sturgis once, 1455 miles from my house one way. I also trailer once. Both times was a 11 day trip. I put more miles on my bike when I trailered it becuase we rode lots every day while in sturgis and with three truck drivers we only took a day to get there and a day to get home vice 2.5 days each way on the bike.

We have a pretty good biker bar in Clinton TN. Lots of High dollar choppers on a Nice saturday. Also a lot of Outlaws hang there. You should have seen the look on those high dollar chopper guys face when most every one walk over to look at my Screaming Eagle Road Glide, but no one paid any attention to the choppers.

I sure agree with you on the leathers. If I am wearing them, the come off and in the bags the minute the bike is parked.

My shit has only been on a trailer once, that was the last time I took the RK to Gatlinburg, and only because I took the wife, and she was not up to the 12 hour one-way putt.

I get 3 weeks vacation time next year, and I am realllllly thinking about heading out to Vegas, and then LA, so I can ride with my brother. We have riden with each other, but both times one of us had to fly out and rent one. I really want to ride with him, and each on our own bikes.

My best (longest trips) 1 about 2100 miles in 3 days (STL, Paducah, Nashville, G-burg, Chattanooga, Lynchburgh, back through nashville, and home.

One about 1300 in two days (Hunnington Beach to Santa Cruz up the PC Highway)

And a bunch STL to G-burg, all around the Smokeys and back in a long weekend.

Same with mine, the one trip to sturgis, the other time I rode it. 670 miles is the most I have done so far in a day.

I bought a toyhauler to haul the RK to the hill country because an RV spot costs less than a motel room plus my wife wanted to bring the dog with us. I used to go on around 200 mi day rides but my riding buddy doesn't ride anymore. A day ride now is a trip to Kemah.

As far as the Saxon as a fashion statement, I bought it because I've always wanted a fat tire custom and could care less if I impress anyone or not and it will get ridden.

I was not indicating you got it for a fashion statement. I know you are a rider or you would not have a Road King.

The fasion part was about those that ride to the bar and home, never put any miles on the bike.

Heck, I think my bikes, both the fatboy and the CVO road glide are fashion statements, but they are big time riders.:D

You are just trying to be cool like the rest of us... ):h :joke:

I know what you meant Dave. I know the type you are talking about. I even know a few. The Saxon will be my rider while I have the RK down for some much needed tlc and some maintenance. Just wish I was home so I could ride...work sucks :sad2:

btw...where did the pics I posted go?
