My new toy.

I got to ride my buddy's new Concourse the other day. Holy crap that thing has power. Too big for my taste, but it's a very nice machine.

I have no idea on the hp but I sure love the way it sounds. I'll be back in town tonight and get to start breaking it in tomorrow. :D

We will have to meet up sometime to check it out. Beaumont isn't too far away. I heard there are some good seafood joint around there.

Yea, Floyeds sea food is excelent. I eat there every time I am in town on Business. He is from south LA, and does real good Creole or Cajun cooking:thumbsup:

Yes Floyds has really good food and the servings are large. I'm up for a meet. just let me know when.

I took the Saxon out yesterday and puts some miles on it and it has way more torque than my Roadking and it wants to get up and go. I still have a long way to go to break it in. The more I ride it the better I like it. I'm already looking for new pipes.

it weighs about 648 lbs I think and puts out 158 hp in stock form...I like the features it has, even tells your tire pressure..

.

Floyds sounds good. I think that's the place everyone always talks about. Maybe we can do something here soon, before it gets too dang hot.

On a side note: There is a big Music Festival going on at The Hawg Stop on Sheldon Rd. here east side of Houston. Mean Gene Kelton is heading this thing up, on a big 4th of July bash. http://www.genekelton.com/ Should be a damn good time, bit hot, but that just means the gals will be sheding cloths faster  www.southernfried4th.com is suppose to be the website for this, but it's not coming up right for me. I'll give more details later :smile5:

Ya, I'm use to 500# and under  Even my 415# Ducati seems 'heavy' lately.

Didn't know it had tire pressure monitors  That's cool.

Been to Hawg Stop a bunch of times. It's a good day ride from here. We go to Papa's in Conroe a lot too. I've still got a ways to go till it's broke in good but it won't be long. We were talkin about Floyd's today. Gonna have to meet up sometime.

350 mi report. I'm really liking this bike. It really wants to get up and go   :reddevil:. The dyno report from S&S says 93.1hp and 96 ftlbs at the rear wheel. It weights 655lbs dry weight.

It has a firm ride but not uncomfortable and not as much vibration in the ride as I expected. I'm still learning to turn it but it will come with more seat time (if it ever stops raining).

Here is the spec sheet from Saxons site:

No, don't go doing any stoplight drags. I was just curious because I don't know too much about other twins... I've talked to some Harley guys about my Buell and their jaws about hit the floor when I tell them it has a 7100 redline. Evidently that's not the norm.

Sounding nice.

My 03 Fatboy at 740 pounds with the built 95" motor has 100 torque but only 89 hp. I however had it built for torque not hp.

That bike of yours should run hard.

What kind of top end do those motors have (rpm wise)?

A stock HD big twin has its rev limiter factory set at 5800rpm. You can bump them up to 6200rpm when you add a "tuner" A well built aftermarket HD "clone" should be able to do more. It really depends on the cam and valve train, etc. But 6000 rpm is plenty for us.

Aw, dont ya know Choppers are SOOOooo 2005? The current trend is hot-rod baggers.

J\K. But I do find it amazing how many full blown custom choppers there are on Craigslist for around $10 to $15 grand. I think too many guys watched American Chopper and thought "HEY! I CAN BUILD THOSE AND MAKE A FORUTUNE" and way too many guys bought one and realized that riding one requires too many concessions of comfort and conveinece to the image.

Funny you say that.

I was wanting a chopper real bad for several years, but decided a hot rod bagger was for me.

There are a few choppers for sale very reasonable in my area now. I am starting to look at them again, now that price is much better:D

Now that the 'trend' is over and the Jones's are getting slapped back to financial reality, choppers can go back to being what they were......and not a fashion statement.

While my harleys have been fashion statements, they have all been and are riders.

My 03 Fatboy, has custom paint, lots of motorwork and chrome, I put 12K into the bike after buying it. I have also put 40,000 miles on it. I ride it to bike shows and show it, I have several first place trophies with it, but have ridden it to sturgies too.

I like real sharp looking bikes, but I like to ride them. They are not trailer or garage queens.
