My K2500

How the hell did that one break! Easy out might get it. Make sure no shavings get inside.
 
Really not sure, I was changing out the "tophat" using a 1/4 " ratchet with a 3-4" extension on it when it snapped.. What sucks is I was trying to be careful with it...
 
I think thats what I"m going to do is get a jig saw blade to cut it out..

Why would my F vin truck have the "S vin" upper on it, factory or possibly replaced at sometime??

Do yo have any pics of yours Doc?

Not sure why you would have that setup, possibly a Canada or California truck where they built some EGR equipped F VIN trucks?

Here are some pics taken when I swapped to full up F intake setup; my intake is not chromed it's ceramic coated. The S intake you see that was removed was modified cutting out extra webbing you can't cut out center of it easily, I left a little webbing just incase there was a weakening of the structure without it when clamped down onto the S lower.

If yours has a F lower then best thing would be to get a F upper and not worry about doing any cutting.

Interesting thanks Doc, my upper is flat on top with no egr; So maybe it was "just the closest one" :dunno: Got everything cutout on mine just need to do final clean up work..
