Finally got the the truck up to my house, just put 2 hot batteries, about 5 gallons of fuel w/ a bottle of injector cleaner in it and it fired right up..

A few pics of the truck and engine before and after I washed it down.. Not to bad for almost 270K w/ no known rebuild...

Known issues off the top of my head..

1. Dvrs door hinge is broke, door will not stay closed..

2. PMD need to be relocated..

3. Needs batteries.. (have 1 of the old ones, and a top post right now)

4. 4wd does not work..

5. SES light flashes on and off..

5. Engine oil leaks. (not bad but there)

6. front diff leak. (not bad but there)

7. Xfr case leak on front out put seal. (not bad but there)

8. Rear axle leak leak. (not bad but there)

9. Wheel cylinders leak. (not bad but there)

Starting to see a trend there... lol

Also on the more immediate side of things PCV?? needs to be replaced (dipstick tube was/ is puffing) looks like the turbo has some "blow by" also..

Also anything past about 1/2 throttle just dumps fuel I'll get a vid of it..

As I fix/ repair things I'll up date this thread. Right now its my DD, mpg is not bad on hwy but intown is horred..

Dads old truck.. "think" he payed 5-7k (know it was under 10k) aprox 10 years ago for it...

He got tired of it or something, it sat for about a year or so till I got it running just last month.

I bet you have a vac system issue with the turbo waste gate. Oil is cheap vs. fixing leaks. Do the blowby test as the CDR may be fine with too much blowby to deal with.

Ok how??

Also do the "covers" on the side mirrors pop off? I need to tighten them up..

The covers will come off. Just drill the rivet on the bottom out. then use a screw and J clip to hold it when your done. I did the same thing, but it was many years ago 1997 or so. I seem to remember using shrink wrap over the post then retightning the mirror head.

Thanks for the response,

I took a look at it yesterday and Think I got it, if not I'll shrink wrap like you say..

Next Issue is the 4wd.

How do I diagnose it, don't think the front hubs/ axle doesn't engage?

TLA??

Come on man speak Ford for petes sake.. lol Seriously what is it and how do I fix it??

Thermo Linear Actuator. It's what engages the front axle. 2 wires going to it check for power and if you have power replace. Easy job

Alright so I'm working on the db2 swap;

Got the intake off, but I cant see how to get to the passenger side injector lines with the turbo and heat shield in the way... Also whats a good place to move the fuel filter housing to while I have it torn down?

I also pulled a good one and broke an ear off the intake..

Pull the turbo, it's easy.

Oil line on the top, two bolts on the oil return line underneath (outside bolt has to come out, inner bolt only needs to be loosened), clamp on the down pipe, 4 bolts holding the turbo to the manifold, two bolts on the strut brace, clamps on the intke pipe and then the intake ducting..

Easy peasy.

the inner fender has never been off of my 96 not so my 94 1/2 ton doesn't have as much clearance. on my 96 I've done glows 3-4 times inj once turbo 2x

I've got all the ducting and the air filter box off, along with one turbo bolt; I'm just having a hard time keeping a socket on it with out it rounding off...

Gonna see about pulling the fender today..

Will I need to replace the intake do y'all think jb weld will hold??
