Well whats your view on the muffler deleters put out onto the market. Good Bad. Hp gains Yes No. Pros Cons.

#1 check state and local laws. vehicle may be required to have one.
#2 if soot trap/ catalytic, get rid of
#3 went straight on mine and then put a resonator in due to noise in cab(wife hates on long trips, then the hate turns on me)

No big mystery here. Actually, all you need to do is straight pipe it (replace the muffler with a regular old pipe). However, most aftermarket systems come with a "flow-through" muffler. You can easily find a whole kit - downpipe (the worst part of the stock setup) and all for $300 - $500.

W/O the muffler, it won't be that loud - the turbo quiets it down. It'll be louder than using a muffler, but not overly obnoxious.

IIRC, the 2000 exhaust is not as bad as previous year.

It does not have any cat conv.

If you are in TX, be careful when removing muffler.

Well i'm new to the idea do they make a delete for the stock exhaust size. If i'm not mistaken its 2.5 on 2000 and earlier.

Double check the diameter (2.75 rings a bell, but I'm not sure) going into and out of the muffler, then measure for the length of pipe you will need to replace the muffler when you cut it out. Get a piece of pipe that long and two slip joint connectors with 4 clamps. Bingo. Done. Don't :mad2: on this one - it's pretty straight forward. As suggested above, might not be a bad idea to check local laws. But, again, it's not that bad - it'll be quieter than a gasser's cat-back system on a 5.0L.

lol, yep, don't get sold.

Trick about it is its not a straight line, need flexible hose or soemthing similar, at least on mine.

Are the inlets and outlet's not lined up? It's been so long since I've had the stock set-up, I forget.

Another option would be to have a local muffler repair shop bend you a piece. That should still be pretty inexpensive. Probably find a shop where you pay a guy $20 after hours.

ROFL, I'm with you ):h
I did the same, and, now, with the A-Team turbo, the resonator is not enough though the rumble is really nice, different and nice, but loud.
I think I will have to upgrade to Aero turbine or Magnaflow silencer to avoid the half...

Mine is stright piped with the stack, wife likes how it sounds, I am thinking it is way to loud, I have a muffler I cant wait until I get time to get it on.

If I remember correctly, it is like an inch and a half offset?!? When I did mine I think it cost me about 10 bucks for my pipe, flared on both ends and ready to weld in.
