OK, let's start posting here
and bring this place to life
I have posted on DP concerning this problem, still pending.
Here is the history : my father in law trucks was revving, up & down from close to shut down up to average 1800 rpms then down again and up, and so and so...
Then finally she quits and never restart. The starter spins strong but nothing.
We found that the remote PMD (in bumper) has melted partially. I don't know for sure wether, the PMD causes the short (defect on PCB maybe) or if it has been the victim of a short somewhere in the harness.
We changed the PMD (tested 100% functional on my own truck), connected it on the extension, on the stock harness, still nothing.
We notice we get plenty of fuel at the bleeder T-valve, the fuel shut off solenoid is cliking (we put a new one to get sure), no blown fuse.
No fuel is coming at the injectors.
Using AutoEnginuity scanner, I found following codes, just before she quits :
C0472 steering position and rate of change sensor circuit #1 low;
P0126 insufficient coolant temperature for stable operation (he has taken out the T-stats as the one of the headgaskets is blown);
P0219 Engine over speed condition ( module : fuel/air metering)
P0236 turbocharger boost sensor A circuit range/performance;
P1216 fuel solenoid response time too short
I bet this is an electrical issue, but did not find it yet. We should soon try to hook a TechII scanner to see if we can see something...
Do you think that problem sits around the IP? Electrical one or something worse?
