Limp Truck

My 2004 did the same thing after I put on the Juice w/ Att. Its still in the shop as we speak...the dealer told me it was injectors and they were replacing all of them...its still under warranty.

Mine went to limp mode and I had 3 codes. So I changed the fuel filter and it ran great for about an hour then did it again...loaded it on the semi and took it to the dealer.

Is this a common problem guys are havin with Edge's product...im kind of afraid to put it back on when i get my truck back

Is yours an LB7 or LLY?

Programmers don't cause injector problems to my knowledge.

im thinkin about switchin programmers...what do you guys recommend??

im not wanting to make huge horsepower just a little extra to play with...

Well, for the money I've always loved my Predator. I can read and delete trouble codes, check injector balance rates and all kinds of data. if I were to go with anything else it'd be EFI live but I don't have the money for that....more important things to spend it on.

right on i'll look into the predator. thanks

x2 on the Predator for your LLY if you want just a bit more power without going wild. I liked mine when I was running it, and got very good mpgs on the 65 and 85 hp settings when I could keep my foot out of it.

My brother runs a Hypertech on his LLY, and is pleased with it as well.

X2, I think the Hypertechs are decent too. I haven't heard anything bad about them either. The Predator gives a little more power though.

I've run both Hypertech and Predator on my 04.5 LLY and liked them both. In fact, I liked them both so much, I have a Hypertech and a Predator now on my LBZ. I'm currently running Hyperpac's live data 90 h.p. tune.

Here's a write up I did back in 2005. Its kinda old now but applies to the LLY, second generation trucks.

The fuel pressure relief valves on the lly's are notoriously weak, whent using a tuner or programmer on higher horsepower settings they tend to open up and defuel the engine. You can either shim the valve yourself for about $10, ppe shim kit, or get a valve for an lbz, $135, .But before doing this try the bottle test to make sure that this is the problem.
