got-h20... iirc i think i have seen that car on another forum???? under a different handle?????

I really never could get into imports...Just want my thing...I always liked the V8 sound for some reason. I dont know when or how I got into diesels but it was shortly after I found DP back in 2003. I surfed for a year before I became a member in 2004. I realized that there was thousands of guys like me who were into the same thing.

I found a fondness of GM B-bodies and Ford Panther platforms. I always liked big cars...You know, the traditional RWD V8's, body on frame design.

I had an 83 BMW 528I when I was in the military and stationed in Germany. It was a 2.8 V6 and surprisingly fast. It was also automatic which was pretty rare for a European car. It would do every bit of 150mph. Idling at a light, it'd overheat. Running on the autobahn, it'd run so cold it was in the blue. There was no happy medium.

Yea, around me, on the South Shore of the Island (where I live), it's either a FOR REAL Raced Out Import (not uncommon at all to see a sub 10-sec Honda or 1000hp Supra driven by a Highschool Kid) or a VERY Hooked-Up Lux Vehicle. But on the North Shore of the Island, it's all about the Bigg Trucks, Gas or Diesel, whatever, just go Bigg. Could be because that's where all the Farms are, because on the South Shore it's all Beaches.

Its hard to associate Long Island with "beaches." I grew up in a 'burb of Syracuse so I'm mighty ignorant when it comes to "down state." I know they exist but is the water ever warm enough to swim? I guess I should come up there sometime...

Oh man...you have no idea what you are missing...we got some the top beaches in the Country out here. The water gets into the 70's-80's during the Summer, Water is Crystal Clear, Bars, Clubs, Restaurants right on the Water (Ocean or Bay side). It's great, you def. gotta come out here during the Summer and experience "The Hamptons"

That's a matter of opinion... I grew up on Long Island (Southold, to be exact), and I don't miss it one bit... New York/Long Island SUCKS in my opinion... The beaches aren't good for anything but fishing. The water's NASTY (Get out and feel all itchy and sticky... YUCK). The only places I've been that I will go in the water are the keys and Hawaii (You don't feel nasty when you get out of the water). I'm VERY happy to be off that dump.

Well that also depends on how long ago you were here. I do agree the water used to be kinda nasty, but in the past few years it has REALLY cleaned up and got nice. It's almost just as blue and clear as it is down in florida. You can be in water that's 15ft deep and look down and see the bottom.

I moved to MO in December of 2004, and have visited friends and family a few times since then.
