Just Another Diesel Guy
I thought I read the ATT went up to 18 with a Heath GL4 Performance reflash.
With a good turbo I would be tempted to go to 20psi but not over. Personal Preference.
It can hit 18, but I have yet to see the need to go there, I installed the dedicated Heath ATT tuned PCM last weekend, have not had an opportunity to put it through it's full paces yet.
With the GL4 non ATT reflash, I easily can get 100 mph with just 10 psi boost, something with the GM-8 that required 12+ psi to achieve, last big pull I did with ATT I was pulling a 16' vee nosed tandem axle cargo trailer loaded to about 7000# cruising 5-6 psi boost, & 12 psi on long grade, due to age/miles of/on my engine I self limit to 14 psi just to add a safety margin even though there is more boost to be had.
I'm too far away from home to do a full out testing, I don't want to brek the truck 1400 miles from home, so I won't be doing any 100+ mph testing here in NY, I'll have to wait until Aug to do full speed testing.
This much I'll say about the ATT matched Heath tune, it has much better bottom end response than the GM-X tuned GL4 has, not that it was a noteworthy issue running that tune with the ATT.
My new job comes with a company car and I'll be able to park the truck for some long overdue maintenance, so once I finish my steam turbine field engineers course this Aug. I can install the splayed main "project engine" that has been sitting for 2 years come this July. I'll be looking to match or better Ian's benchmark with that one, it probably will get some "drug therapy" before I get finished with it.
I just rolled 200K with this one last week, a little long in tooth to start pushing full envelope just yet.
