I have a fuel pressure ?

If your thinking about the gl4 then get it, or you could get the kojo tune. I have the GL4 and i love it but when it gets to be time for a turbo im going the att and kojo route.

Trying to figure which way to go. I'm getting sucked in with every mod and can't stop. IT'S LIKE MY 68 GSconv. b/b 4SPD more, more. i DON'T WANT TO BUY A TURBO UNTIL MINE BLOWS UP. EVEN THEN I COULD JUST REBUID IT. Help me I'm incurable. Tell me it's not worth it. Which one would be better with stock turbo

FYI the Heath GL4 ATT tune is headed my way for evaluation, a couple of guys have been running an interim version for a while as a R&D, if this one proves out as well as the other Heath products there will a 2nd vendor with a ATT specific tune, should be here some time this week.

Best way to know if you need a lift pump is to test it under load, if you don't have one, go to auto part store get a vac/press test gage, about 20-ish$. get a piece of vac tubing connect to the filt mgr drain, and snake into the cab and connect to the gauge, take care to not pinch off the hose and "dead-head" the reading in the tube, you want to see it pulse.

Go for a drive and observe the gauge it should sustain 3-4 psi when cruising speed, momentarily dip to 1 psi on acceleration and then return back to same level of pressure you had at cruise.

If it dips could be lift pump or snotty in tank filter sock, once you get home if it dips, remove lift pump inlet and with maybe 3 psi air (fuel fill cap removed) blow back toward the tank, this should temporarily clear snot of the sock, go for a test drive, if previous test repeats pressure drop pump is suspect.

All of this is assuming you have verified your power to the lift pump is @ full voltage.

I'm not getting fuel out of the water bleed only a dribble at the filter bleed and thats with the pump running and the truck off powered up from the dlc. Truck runs fine.was wondering if that could cause my high egts. I read that post in the library this aft. thanks.

Should not cause high EGT, no fuel=low EGT, you should have fuel there with engine running, IP can pull it's own fuel thru a dead lift pump, we need to find out why you have no fuel at the drain.

Get right in there Rob.

You have fuel delivery issues.

To check for clogged in tank sock

- Remove Lift pump INLET,
- Remove Fuel Cap
- Take a blow gun with rubber tip set to 30 psi or so and pulse air into the tank via the LP line.

See if pressure is restored.

You need a fuel pressure gauge.

LP needs to be putting out verified Pressure.

Get into the fuel filter manager and check the feed hose for volume if you have too.

Blow lines out if you have to, some reported chunks and crap coming out.

Perhaps something is wrong inside your FFM.

Perhaps just do the FTB mod and be done with it.

I recommend getting some new intake gaskets and pulling the intakes and getting up close and personal with plumbing from FFM to IP and the rest of it to the tank.

I recommend everyone pick up

10' of 3/8'ths diesel rated fuel hose
10' of 5 / 16
10' of 1/4 inch.
And a box of good hose clamps.

Just good to have when you need it, and AZ and most parts chains don't sell diesel rated.

Get a fuel pressure gauge, and dive in.....

I will this wknd. I'm doing d/p and c/o tomorrow,I already have fpg to check pressure and will check off the L/p and move forward from there.I will be installing a chip in two weeks and is ftb recomended or a must. I will let you know what I find. What's with all the hose. 10 ft. of all that is needed for ftb. or something else I'm not aware of yet??
