I got my first truck back…

It’s been threatening to rain the last few days so I haven’t bothered trying to clean the outside but it’s gonna need a serious bath outside.

In the mean time finished the seat covers on the front seats. Not sure I like the center console condom thing but we’ll see. I’ll work on the rear bench tomorrow.

Gave the interior dash and door panels an initial good spray and wiped down with some industrial interior cleaner. Got a good amount of grime cleaned up but still plenty more to go. Might try the steamer in a couple of spots.

Also got a magnetic charging phone holder installed as I have started driving this more.

Get You a can of this stuff.

It lifts that embedded dust out of all og those crinnies and crevices on them dash boards. Leaves them looking factory clean.
Add Your own waxy shine.
I like lemin scent pledge as advised by a long time old GMC/cadillac parts counter man.

Well the rain today added something to my project list and may change my priorities. I was planning to look at the blower motor, controller and resistor but located a pretty decent water leak on the passenger side. It seems it’s coming from maybe the base of the windshield on the passenger side. Hard to locate precisely with the rain still falling today.

It seems the water leaking from the windshield area down the right side a pillar and behind the kick panel to the floor/door sill channel. My best guess at this point is the water leaking is hitting the blower motor or resistor and/or the connectors. So before I tear into that and replace parts I need to address the water leaking issue.

Probably be best to wait for the rain to hold out so I can pull some panels and try to locate the intrusion point by controller where the water comes from.

Find a smoker. Someone that smokes cigarettes, or, buy a pack and light one up, have someone drive the vehicle, hold the cigarette close to the suspected area. The smoke will be sucked out through the area where the water is coming in from.
An old trick I was taught back in the day when smoking cigarettes was cool, some pot too. 🫣😹😹😹
If You cant find a smoker, then see if You can find one of those punks thats used to ignite fireworks, or, maybe a smoking hot gal, but thats an invisable kind of smoke and dont work so good for leak detection. 🫣😹😹😹

Oh yeah, The vehicle most likely will need to be taken up to a decent highway cruising speed for the experiment to work.
Unless its the smoking hot gal experiment, then an out of the way parking place might be suggested. 🫣😹
