How many miles are on your origional brakes?

Mackin,

You mentioned a blown axel seal when you serviced your brakes. It looks like my rear passenger seal is leaking a little as well. Maybe that's all it is and I just need to replace the seal as it appears to be getting on the rotor.....

If it's leaking bad enough you'll have to replace rear pads and parking brake shoes also. The pads/shoes get contaminated

Thanks for the info on the brake fluid. I'll just go DOT 3

The parking brake shoes are the worst part. Those suckers are over $200.00 for the shoes. Outrageous.

x2. happened to the drivers side seal on mine an d wiped out pads and shoes on that side. spendy.

caught the pass side quicker and all i needed to replace was the seal. didn't get into the brakes that time.

48000 0n mine but thats the 2nd. set ( front and rear). dealer replaced 4 rotors , calipers, and pads at 28000. all seized up, now off warranty its my problem. in the north east they use a lot of salt and if you don't remove the calipers at least once a year, clean and lube them they seize up.

220k+ miles and still original brakes, they look good too, imo they look good for another 150k miles, the dealer says they don't do very many brake jobs since the new style brakes havee been out.

still at original at 309k miles
