How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

If you can swing it and are going to install new engine oil cooler lines, install an engine oil bypass filter.

I install a T in the return line brother engine oil cooler to supply the bypass filter and return to the engine oil fill neck
 
If your gonna drive like you stole it at 85+ on the freeway, you might look into a gearvendors overdrive unit to install. that will give you a highway cruising gear while in 2x4. that will help with the MPG's and lower the engine RPM's when going that fast! my 93 has one with a 4l80e running 4:10 gears and gets 1900-2000 ish RPM at 70mph while running the smaller 245-75-16 tires.

It's hard justifying the investment at a $4k, but if you drive across the country a lot, it will pay for it's self sooner. sometimes you can find them used on marketplace and ebay. it's one of those "nice to have" things to put on your wish list.

Its 0 below through 35°F currently here. Really debating on 10w30 vs 5w40 (Rotella T7). Im still running the 15w40 oil atm.

Also, should I be putting a grill cover (or in my case, a piece of cardboard) now or not yet?

I mainly stick to my base, everything is within a 5 mile radius, if i do go to town, its a 30 minute drive at most

5-W40 Rotella T6 os good fir those temps.
Whats the temperature gauge tell You when those cold temps hit ?
If temp gauge is getting at or near normal operating range then do nothing.
If installing any kind of a cover over the grill/radiator, be sure that the vent opening is centered to the fan hub.
If its off center it can cause the blades to flex and bust a blade or two off.
 
Well fellas

Apologies for not saying anything, alots happened recently.

TLDR, was undergoing medically backed separation from the Armed Forces, so now I have to make the trip back to NYC sooner than I anticipated.

Hope to God it makes it, its 1.8K Miles from where I am stationed at, lowkey terrified to make the trip, heck, the 6.2 isn't even at the top of my mind now, obviously other things are, but, I have to make it back in it.

Id like to thank you all for being on this journey with me, sincerely mean that, no, not selling the K5, but, won't have access to the auto hobby/rent a stalls after im out, which, will suck, as i will miss doing stuff to it, I still can, but, it'll be limited, and without my mechanically inclined friends.

I won't go past 75 on the way back, if thats alright.

Also, ill drive around 6-8 hours a day, it literally made 8-9 hour road trips to Minneapolis and Denver multiple times, hopefully it can handle this.
