Hood vents... Maybe not...

What did those come off of??

"Yaughty" nailed it. These came off a white 80. The guy said it was a wrecked "pace car" edition, but most people don't junk those and I can't believe they would let anything that is tied to the pace cars sell at 25 bucks. Although, the paint and stripes on it are similar to those on the pace cars....

They're not a simple "bolt on" though.

The panels needs to be precisely cut, the extractors recessed, a flange needs to be fabbed all around the opening, mounting points need to be created, extractors need to be modified for shape/fit and then the whole shebang needs to be painted.

Get any of that wrong (besides the painting) and you've just trashed a fender.

Not too hard if you're somewhat skilled with body work, but not an afternoon project either.....

These seem to be working for me. A lot less work than the description for retrofiting the Trans Am piecesI can tell you that.

I've yet to do the temperature tests to confirm effectiveness but the videos I did showed air moving over them. Just not sure how much heat they are drawing out.
Hood vents are allowing the outside air IN to the engine compartment at speeds over 40mph and the warm/hot air is going somewhere so that's a good thing too right?

I've removed the insulation on the openings in the fender inside the engine compartment and sealed/blocked off the openings on my AFE intake so I'm getting there.

I don't think the Z28 vents would look good on our vintage body style - too squared off. The ones from the T/A are more contoured.
