H/O Waterpump VS. Stock

Does the 2000 HO pump fit on earlier years without any issues other than needing the spin on fan with it? Is the one Heath sells the factory part that you can order anywhere for a 2000 6.5TD or are there other part numbers of that kind of pump that arent as good?
 
I believe the 2000 pump should be interchangable however I "think" the one heath sells is actually a Mil spec Humvee one. I have no proof of this.
