Got Slimed!

With all do respect, that GM design fuel level gauge is not much better than the toilet flusher design.

Even the design in the toilet flusher is better now!!!

I hope GM's design is much better with the newer vehicle.
But then, they put a cr***py stepper motor for their gauges in the cluster.
That becomes another business.
Never got it right !!!!

GM's new design isn't much better. They use 2 wipers instead of a center pivot - still in contact with fuel and fuel contaminates like: sulfur and water.

Leroy's design seals the electronics from the fuel as well as Capacitive designs available for boats are two modern technologies that GM and other makers are to fing cheap to bother using. And bad fuel level sensors is still common on GM gas cars. Worse now as EVAP emissions require a working fuel level sensor.

The NAPA Echlin OPS have out today. Still ran the oil pressure gauge fine but wouldn't give me positive fuel pressure when not on the throttle. In went the paper clip jumper on the OPS connector and positive pressure came back. Just waiting on my AC Delco OPS to arrive... Hopefully NAPA exchanges the part for a new one.

Anything you can relay to take the load off the switch is good. I love the relayed headlight setups as well. I was a must for my jeep as the switch would get crazy hot. Thats what sold me on relaying the ops. I never had issues, but others had, so I went preventative. Leroy, is the reason you don't sell the headlight relat setup, cause others already do? I felt bad buying fromj vendor from other site. Have you considered selling braided tinned ground strap replacements like that other vendor. He has become unreliable from feedback. The outlay of cash for buying the whole roll and lugs keeps me from making my own. Just thinking of ways to buy more stuff from you. Back to topic.

Haven't ever thought about it, didnt know there was a need. I just run a 4ga bat cable from engine to frame and frame to body.

They seem to sell on the gmt400 site, both the grounds and the headlight relays. I like the hi/lo all on for high beam feature. I've been running the 4guage grounds my self. I was just thinking of things you might try, as I would rather support a vendor I know. I think others have been using that site for this as well.

Oh! to clarify I was taliking about the ground straps.

I do like the idea of the relay for the headlights and 4 on hi. I run that on my suburban. I thought about making a kit it just comes down to time witch I don't have a lot of lately.

*UPDATE*

I finally got around to installing the replacement ACDelco EP158 lift pump. This pump blows the SSdiesel out of the water! I was getting ~3.5 psi on the SSD lift pump and the EP158 registers over 5 psi on my fuel pressure gauge. When driving around with the SSD lift pump, I would frequently zero out on my fuel pressure gauge when going up a 6-7% grade here on the H3 in Hawaii. I'm excited to see how this ACDelco EP158 performs.

I got it from Amazon for really cheap at $57.30 with free shipping which was a few bucks cheaper than SSD's.

I have seen bad fuel wipe out lift pumps wholesale. So I wouldn't put that much blame on the other pump as the bad fuel could have harmed it by scoring or plugging it up. Always seems to be another screen in a lift pump one doesn't expect.

The SSD lift pump I had on prior to the AC Delco pump I have on now was a replacement to the prior AC Delco pump I had on when I got slimed (original when I took ownership of the truck). So, I'm 2 lift pumps into it. SSD lift pump brand new out of the box pumped out only 3.5 psi max at idle for me.
