Gauging interest in a new intake adaptor for the ATT

Well I'm ready to start on another adaptor anyone, anyone interested in one.

90* offset??? 90* offset??? 90* offset??? :hello:

Probably ready to take delivery in about a month as I still have to scrounge the last bit of funds to cover the motor . . .

Wow, all this talk of porn has got me excited. Most certainly will get off installing lift pump and oil cooler with stainless line while the Special Ops guy and Environmental testing kid play with the ATT and purple intake spacer above. Just Colby has his batteries and new cables lined up. Heath's cold air intake has not arrived and talked to him at the beginning of last week.

Ever thought of trying to fit a little heat exchanger in there for a water to air intercooler? I know prevailing thought is an intercooler is not needed with the ATT and it maybe took away a tad of performance I think due to the pressure drop across a air to air charger with appreciable plumbing loss.

But how about a small little water to air cooler incorporated into the adapter. I have often dreamed of one in that location.

The thing to do is look at iat numbers to see how cold it is. Iirc 55 degrees f was the Diminissing point of return, after that it cooled the chamber too much.

Other than that tapping the a/c system is one I tried years ago on gassers.

Sorry for delay ( computer problems).
I'll get started on yours right after AK's.

Interesting, your mean a little radiator type thing? First thing I'm thinking is a motorcycle radiator. :scratchchin:

Can you take some video of your porn stars in action.:hihi:

Did Colby get the parts I sent yet?

Just thinking, A radiator might be to restrictive. Until IAT are known, maybe just a few cold coils of tubing would be enough?
It would be easy to incorperate into the adaptor.

What I did was used 1/16 inch copper tubing and made 10 passes through a piece of pipe that was about an inch tall. Then I put that on top of the carburetor. The thought was the air coming in would get colder and not just just lower the air temperature but lower the fuel temperature was getting sprayed going through the Venturi. Then I ran it through a plate adapter in between the intake manifold and the carburetor to see the difference above the carburetor and below the carburetor. It did help it out a little bit of power but it was so negligible it was barely worth the time of doing it. Doing the dry ice on the fuel line trick was about the same amount. This was a naturally aspirated vehicle so I don't know how much it would help fight the increased IAT's coming from the increased pressure of Turbo. If you dont mind modifying one of your new spacers, it could be worth the time. I don't know such a thing exist but an adjustable expansion valve could be a magic thing there.

Thats the picture I had in my mind. Off hand Im thinking not alot of gain would be had and other methods would be better (water/meth injection....).
I do like that there would be no consumables though.

Make it work with your baseplate would be nice but you would really open up your market if you could build it so that it's in a tube. Then It just goes in line after the air filter, that we can work in anybody's truck, or hummer (hint hint).

Dealing with adding a fairly large water tank to run a nonstop WMI on my truck, combined with not understanding how that water tank in the summer getting the water of 120° what affect it has is the only thing that kept me from putting one on my Hummer. The in-line intake air conditioner adapter has been on my back burner for every since I dropped the turbo in the hummer.

It would have to be a good thing for Dodges Fords and Duramax as well -anyone that would benefit from an air to airw would benefit from this.

Yes, Colby got the parts. Thanks, you made me look like a forward thinking father.

Let's see, I plan on being underneath (the truck) and you want me taking video of the porn action. And I thought I was the one with the twisted mind.

Great, glad it arrived ok.

You'll have to take turns holding the camera :mischievous: and while the truck is ontop watchout for that driveshaft :scared1:
