Fluiddamper "GROUP BUY"

Well crap guys. Just got off phone with FD they are now saying end of June before they ship. Bunch of BS. Don't give me a date FD if you can't honor it.
I emailed everyone that ordered about this. If you want a refund just let me know. If you keep your orders standing it will help FD see the demand and they will make the part. If their is no demand they will build other units with orders/demand.

It seems I bought the same part number for all mine and didn't use the spacer when I didn't need to.

Am I remebering correctly? If that is the only difference you could order only the style that comes with the spacer.

I didn't read the thread so if this is redundant delete it.

I will know what warranty is on Monday. Im sure it is universal though. It will cover the purchaser. Not sure what you mean by "end user"
Best price I know of is at Summit racing for $409 +$15 shipping. Not a big savings, but........blah blah...
This one (800141) specifies 94-2000 6.5's
The unit for 82-93 is #800191
Both are the same price of $405

Good news, I got tracking #'s on the Fluid Dampers, SO they have finaly shipped!!
Thanks to those that placed orders and hung in there with me while FD built a new batch.
If you can please post up with some pics of your installs.

Leroy
PS. They should now be in stock again so anyone that was waiting can now order on up.

They may have raised the price on them accross the board. I will have to check into it.

Got mine in today, As eager as I am to install it I need to finish timing my motor first. It doesnt appear that the fluidampr has the recessessed line for the Mag pickup on my Snapon meter to sense rpm speed in it. No biggy however. figure I will knock that out in a day or so, Alot of people comment on how much quieter their motor runs with the dampr, I have access to a decibal meter and will do some testing to see before and after if there is an actual audible difference. As you requested Ill try and post some pics and results up after install. Probably be a couple of weeks out however.

Its a Mechanically injected 6.5 diesel. The 6.2 and mechanical pump 6.5's have a slot in the balancer that indicates TDC. The older diesel timing meters have a magnetic pickup that slides into a bracket on the timing cover and rests just above the outer perimeter of the damper. as the motor spins the pickup senses this line and correlates it into rpm on my Snapon diesel timing meter. It uses a luminosity probe which replaces a glow plug to pickup the combustion and computes the readings into timing degree figures.

Does the same thing that the reluctor wheel and crankshaft position sensor do this on the electronic 6.5's. but with an external box so no worry about it not working there.

Yes as long as you make sure that the timing tab which holds the magnetic pickup is properly positioned on the timing cover. The tab is slotted to allow adjustment. If you have ever removed the timing cover from the motor then you have to re-set the tab. or the timing reading will be off as it is computed by the magnetic pickup's correlation to the harmonic balancer and the combustion event. There used to be a tool to do this but if you dont have one you can do it by making sure the motor is at tdc on #1 and adjust the tab from there. My meter has manual gauges on it but their are several that have digital. I can get accurate .2 degrees of measurement off the meter. The digitals are alittle better. It is about the only way to set the timing accurately on a non-electronic sensor motor.

That sucks. I got one of the first fluidamprs, it had the TDC line/notch and degrees before and after TDC etched into the balancer.

I couldn't use my Lumi-mag on my 6.5's, seems like the power steering pump gets in the way of installing the crank probe. I use a timing light/pulse adapter unit, cant recall the brand right now, on my two DB2's.
