Fluidampr...IMHO Waste of Money

Yep, got the last one from him for my customer, definately the best price.
Thanks again.
Noticed that about a lot of posters. Kind of sad. Missing a lot of really good input

I've had Fluidamprs on everything for many years. The 6.5 I put in the 89 went 500,000 miles and I've always done the same things I did to that - which wasn't much. Fluidampr, engine oil cooler lines, Amsoil front to back. Quality filters. Best quality parts I could find every time.

I'm still not sure what happened to the 89. I still think it very possibly could have been hydro locked. I wasn't physically able to do anything at the time to check it out. At 800,000 miles, I had my money's worth. Surely am still curious to this day though.

The main chinese part problem I've noticed in the last several years is bearings and seals. A couple of my mechanic friends say the same

90% of the Chinese truck parts will have to be replaced 3-4 over compaired to a quality part, its sad and its getting worse.

I always run GM ACDelco dampers. I am assuming they are made here in the ol usa of since they are double the price of the knockoffs at about $100 or so a piece. Would love a Fluidamper it is just everytime I am at the point of needing a balancer I need several hundred or more worth of parts and the $200 -300 I save is being spent on other parts.

Bought a FD from Leroy as part of a group buy last year and put it on the shelf for a future upgrade phase.

Plans changed and the FD is going on a P-400. P-400's vendor knows that I am pulling the static HB to install the FD when the motor arrives and this has zero effect on warantee. FD is possibly overkill on the P-400, but am going to do it anyway as the FD has a better track record of durability in comparison to the OE HB.

Sadly, I wouldn't assume anything. A lot of parts are being made offshore, including AC Delco. Price can be an indicator where it was made but again, not always the case.

Not overkill at all.

I was the proud owner of an AC Delco fuel tank sending unit for the Tahoe. That I paid out the ass for, because I almost always buy GM or Ac Delco when it comes to electrical components. Turns out I paid for a chunk of made in china POS. I replaced it with a cheap made in China POS that worked. If I'm going to run cheap chinese shit, I'm not going to pay the big bucks for it.
